Senior UI Designer

We are looking for a UI designer to join the growing team of one of the biggest communication companies in the world. Reporting directly to the Design Lead, you will be entrusted to lovingly craft final product designs. You will be always hands-on and working with other designers, engineers and product managers.

The team you’ll join is responsible for providing the world with internet connectivity. You’ll design the experiences on the web for their promotional activity and for their business partners all over the planet – from hotels, airports, cafes etc. The service runs across all major platforms, Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android and browser. Naturally there’s a healthy overlap with all the client’s other applications, which makes the job all the more exciting! As well as being useful and universal, they want the experience to be wonderful; look beautiful and work beautifully.

You will need experience in designing mobile devices as well as problem solving skills (visual problem solving) and a strong familiarity of the design constraints within the remit. You will come from a strong project management background from an agile environment. You will ideally come from a similar company background including telco or software.

This role will pay up to £400 per day and is based in central London. This is initially a 3 month role but is very likely to continue from there.

Your primary focus will be to make world-class experiences:
• Create the overall design for the mobile, tablet and integrated products
• Solving complex problems and turning them into innovative and clear design solutions, developing user stories, mapping user journeys and making prototypes
• Evolving the interaction specifications into pixel perfect designs
• Design and craft applications, both standalone and integrated across all major OS’s and devices
• Proactively collaborate with Product managers, engineers and your fellow designers
• Track and resolve impediments that arise for the team
• Enforcing to stakeholders, the necessity and importance of clear communication and considered design
• Manage external design resources, via freelancers and/or design agencies
• Set the design bar high

Expertise/Experience (must have):
• You can prove you know what you’re doing, by showing exceptional design work and innovative thinking
• In-depth knowledge of responsive web design
• You’re a bit of an all rounder, interaction and visual design seem inseparable to you
• You’re a whiz on a mac/pc and all the usual applications
• Have designed application experiences for web and mobile
• Creating and interpreting concepts / wireframes and translating them into compelling final pixel perfect designs is your daily bread and butter
• You can speak English and effectively communicate your thoughts to others
• Don’t mind traveling around the globe when necessary

• Bachelor of Arts (or equivalent) in design / HCI
• Candidates should have experience in designing user interfaces
• Proven track record of successful products
