Senior Specialist (Help Desk)

Responsibilities

    •  The Senior Specialist is responsible for evaluating, testing and diagnosing existing/new computer applications to maximize efficiency/productivity and provide general LAN admin support to users

    •  Candidate will also evaluate user requests for new applications and/or provide improvements to existing Customer Service programs and applications.

    •  Conducts testing associated with changes to business processes and systems, including development of detailed test plans and test cases, execution of testing, documentation of findings, and working with business and technical staff to resolve identified issues.

   •  The candidate must be able to re-image computers, effectively troubleshoot application software, desktops, laptops, and other computing and peripheral hardware utilized within the enterprise.

 

Required Qualifications & Experience

    •  Must be able to communicate technical information to supported users using non-technical language.

    •  Candidate must be familiar with Windows security model, AD and group policies, and have a working knowledge of network connectivity and troubleshooting techniques.

    •  Candidate should have working knowledge of desktop and server operating systems such as Windows, Linux and Unix

    • Will be required to write complex SQL queries and develop custom reports aimed to improve productivity and reporting automation.

    • Candidate must be familiar with Windows security model, AD and group policies, and have a working knowledge of network connectivity and troubleshooting techniques.

    • Three years of IP telephony (VoIP) and project management experience is preferred for the position.

    • Experience in programming/scripting, general computer applications, virtualization, VB, .NET, JAVA, and query tools such as SQL and is also required.

 

Desired Characteristics & Fit

    •  Candidate will manage departmental projects as needed and will serve as a liaison between vendors, corporate Information Technology personnel, and business users.  

    • Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree or five years of technical work experience, and an additional three years of related work experience.  

    • Candidate must be able to lift and move PCs, monitors, printers, etc. from 25- 50 lbs.
