Our top education client is looking to hire multiple Software Developers for a project assignment running through the end of the year with potential to extend. Comes with W2 pay and full benefits.
This person will work closely with product owners and teams to lead feature implementation and/or source third party solutions when appropriate. Contribute to standards and best practices around development processes, coding, and peer reviews. Optimize existing systems to improve performance and scalability through service/application tuning and code refactoring. Fully and properly test code to ensure the highest levels of reliability and maintainability. Research and recommend software solutions and tools that help fix inefficiencies in the development process, team collaboration, etc. Help lead and drive development operations initiatives. Provide assistance to CM, QA and support personnel as needed to troubleshoot lower environment as well as production issues. Resolves customer complaints and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. Participates in the development of software user manuals.
Independently designs, develops, and maintains software applications
Maintains both pre-production and production environments for the development and testing of software releases including: physical and virtual hardware, operating systems, applications, services and web server configuration
Administers and troubleshoots the build and deployment of new software releases to both pre-production and production environments.
Participates in integration and system testing
Develops and maintains an understanding of business needs and objectives
Manages multiple projects using organizational/planning skills
Collaborates with project teams to ensure projects are developed to standards and release schedules are met.
Collaborates with various members and departments in managing projects.
In-depth, hands-on experience building sophisticated web and client-server applications using Microsoft tools such as C#, ASP.NET, VB6, SQL Server
Good understanding of non-functional requirements for mission-critical enterprise software products and services in the areas of system performance, scalability, security, data protection and encryption, compliance, usability, ease of implementation, supportability, maintainability, and data center operability
Working knowledge of web standards and web browser capabilities; ability to create cross-browser, cross-platform, 508 Compliant/accessible pages Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with agile/iterative software development methodologies
Ability to gather and document system requirements and technical architecture
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a member of a team
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
Ability to work in a deadline driven environment
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Excellent customer service attitude
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired
5+ years experience performing hands-on design and programming of complex web-based software applications
1+ years release engineering, systems integration or configuration management experience building and deploying N-tiered applications using Microsoft tools and technologies including Visual Studio, Windows Server, IIS, ASP.NET, ASP, SQL Server, COM+
1+ years system administration experience including Windows Server and IIS Experience with build automation, continuous integration and other Agile development techniques preferred.
