Senior Social Media Analyst (2-3 openings)

Some will tell you data and research methods are the answer, but it takes much more than charts and graphs to make our clients the smartest and fastest organizations of their kind.
Porter Novelli is looking for an analyst to join its expanding New York analytics and measurement team. Working across a variety of data types – news media, social media, digital platforms and financial results or other first-party client data, among others – our analysts create customized dashboards and research reports answering our clients’ business challenges. Successful candidates will have experience with at least one of these types of analytics work and be seeking the opportunity to expand their skillset.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Understand client business challenges and research questions, identify appropriate data and research sources to respond and conduct analysis to provide insight into our client’s needs
• Analyze news and social media coverage/conversation of our clients to identify trends, opportunities or potential pitfalls
• Measure the impact (both dollarized ROI and changes in consumer mindset) of our communications programs in both digital and traditional public relations
• Report insights based on results back to both internal and external clients

Skills
• Background in analytics, measurement or research delivery and/or strategy
• Ability to generate and clearly communicate insights from a set of data
• Basic knowledge of different types of analytics and measurement options
• Strong writing and presentation communication skills in English language
• Ability to read and comprehend multiple languages highly preferred, though not required

Analytics Tools:
• Experience with one or more of the following analytics tools:
o Social Listening/Monitoring: Radian6, Sysomos, Tracx, BrandWatch, DataSift/GNIP
o Digital Platforms: SimplyMeasured, SocialBakers, Google Analytics, Adobe Insights (Omniture)
o Digital Advertising: Google AdWords, DoubleClick
• Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
• Knowledge of SQL, Google Cloud storage or experience accessing data through APIs preferred, though not required

Education & Experience:
• BA/BS in business, computer science, psychology, statistics or related fields
• 1-3 years of analytics, data or research experience
