Our client is a full-service design and innovation consultancy specializing in product, service and experience design solutions for the global market. Vitamin T is looking for a Senior Researcher for our client in Everett, WA. This is a 6+ month contract position on-site at the aviation studio in Everett, WA.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Research Contractor is responsible for planning and executing user-centered research to uncover new opportunities and suggest solutions that will shape the aviation industry for our clients. The position demands experience and knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative user-centered research methods.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of researchers, designers, and engineers
  • Contribute to product design through rigorous user-centered exploration and analysis
  • Use a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods leading to actionable insight (e.g. interviews, questionnaires, experimental designs)
  • Collect, analyze, visualize, and prepare research findings for presentation to various audiences

  • Possess strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Passion for the use of user-centered research in the creative process
  • Comfortable in all aspect of research; from protocol design and data collection, to analysis and presentation
  • Ability to translate findings into actionable feedback
  • Capable of making design recommendations that balance user experience, stakeholder needs, and business strategy
  • Comfortable working independently or with a team
  • Strong organizational skills, methodical approach to research, but also comfortable with ambiguity
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of statistical programs (e.g. SPSS) preferred


  • EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Factors, Psychology, User Experience Research, Social Sciences or equivalent field. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies in a design setting; excellent written and verbal communication skills; passion for aviation, technology, business, design, and strategy a plus.
