Senior Project Manager

One of Vitamin T's favorite clients, a well respected and globally known digital agency, is looking for a freelance Project Manager to temporarily join their team. This is a three month contract for a seasoned project manager with experience managing interactive and digital projects, ideally with experience in the retail space.

Description:
Senior project managers provide the interface between client and internal resources to ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget and that the work meets clients’ expectations. Senior project managers support business development in defining client opportunities, scoping and proposing solutions to meet clients’ needs, writing proposals, and budgeting. Senior project managers work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project success. Individuals must drive project processes, promote collaboration, facilitate and ensure delivery.

Job Responsibilities:
■ Develop complex proposals, SOWs, and change orders specifying project requirements, deliverables, and definition of done
■ Author appropriate sections of pitches or RFI/RFP responses
■ Level of effort estimation
■ Tactful negotiations of scope, ability to negotiate compromises
■ Proactive, concise, and diplomatic communication and expectation setting
■ Assess risks vs. opportunities and recommend/mobilize mitigation actions
■ Serve as effective escalation point to clients and internal team members
■ Anticipate challenges and proactively address in a professional manner
■ Ensure process and quality consistency between related project work
■ Provides or creates opportunities for team members to experience professional growth and learning
■ Ability to assess bandwidth and delegate proactively and effectively
■ Demonstrates initiative in regard to project movement and completion
■ Identifies and pursues new business opportunities
■ Clearly and concisely document conversations and meeting notes with a focus on outcomes, action items, and deadlines
■ Develop and maintain project schedules
■ Initiate and manage work according to the schedule, budget, and requirements
■ Educate clients on project process, schedule, and scope
■ Plan, secure, and update resource hours
■ Manage budget, timeline, and resource utilization
■ Control scope, pursue resolution to budget conflicts
■ Facilitate communication with clients, teams, and management, including escalation as needed
■ Lead project kick-offs, reviews, and retrospectives
■ Regular status reporting
■ Risk and dependency management
■ Follow up to ensure client satisfaction and internal project success
■ Actively manages project profitability, internal profitability reporting
■ Invoice initiation and review
