Senior Project Manager

Aquent is currently assisting our Fortune 500 client in their search for a Senior Project Manager for a 1 year contract role. The Senior Project Manager will join an ongoing, high complex program in the Aircraft Maintenance space consisting of nine workstreams, each led by a Workstream Lead. The individual will assume the role of the program’s Risk and Issue as well Program Change Control Lead.

Responsibilities of the Sr. Project Manager will include the following:
1) Own, manage, facilitate and continuously improve the program’s Risk and Issue resolution process
A Risk and Issue resolution process has been previously defined and implemented
• Ensure that high quality mitigation plans are in place for all High and Medium Risks
• Ensure that high quality action plans are in place for all High and Medium Issues
• Monitor mitigation and action plans and ensure they are maintained and executed
• Support and provide guidance to workstream leads in managing Issues and Risks
• Ensure Risks and Issues are addressed at the appropriate level of the program organization (i.e. workstream level Risks and Issues are addressed at the workstream level, program wide Risks and Issues are addressed at the program level)
• Ensure root causes are identified, analyzed and addressed
• Develop reports that provide valuable insight

2) Own, manage, facilitate and continuously improve the program’s Change Control process. A Change Control process has been previously defined and implemented.
• Ensure Program Change Requests (PCRs) are complete and of high quality before being presented for review and approval
• Ensure root causes are identified, analyzed and addressed
• Develop reports that provide valuable insight

Education 
• Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Finance, Business or equivalent work experience 

Experience
• 3 or more years work experience in project management required 
• Experience working in the context of large and complex projects or programs is preferred
• Practical knowledge and experience in leading the resolution of Issues and Risks is required 
• Practical knowledge and experience in managing change requests is required

Licensing/Certification
• PMP certification or equivalent work experience as a Project Manager preferred 

Job Responsibilities & Expectations of Employee:
• Partners with Program Leadership and vendors in support of the program’s objectives
• Viewed as a lead resource, responsible for driving the resolution of Issues and Risks as well as the appropriate disposition of PCRs
• Mentors and coaches workstream Leads on Issue and Risk resolution best practices and techniques
• Proactively monitors Issues and Risks as well as PCRs ensuring the appropriate level of priority, visibility and escalation
• Leads and facilitates meetings and presentations to Program Leadership
• Drives Teams toward decisions
• Establishes cross functional alliances to drive results
• Proactively communicates and provides ongoing updates to Program Leadership, workstreams and stakeholders to maintain alignment
• Builds trust and influences without authority cross-functionally and across diverse teams.
