Senior Product Manager

One of Aquent's San Francisco utility clients is seeking a Senior Product Manager for a 6-month contract. The client is only interested in talent currently residing in the San Francisco Bay Area.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for developing business plans and leading the implementation for the organization's energy efficiency product offerings specific to the residential retrofit programs and will analyze energy savings and Assistance Program targeted at low income customers. Additionally, the Senior Product Manager will assist with market surveillance, researching customer needs, and evaluating current program offerings to recommend enhancements that drive increased energy savings to our customers. In partnership with internal business units, customers and industry stakeholders, this person will assess and make recommendations on existing technologies as well as on new technology's commercial viability.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Senior Product Manager you will be responsible for the following:
• Manage the lifecycle of residential retrofit programs, including existing products, development of new products, and sunset of products at the end of their lifecycle. Determine market adoption milestones
and a codes and standards timeline.
• Create the product family roadmap taking codes and standards into account.
• Assess commercial viability and customer acceptance of new technologies.
• Develop product business cases and effectively present to senior management for approval.
• Identify product improvement needs based on customer research, marketing and sales feedback, internal ideation and gap analysis.
• Assess competitive offerings and substitutes through market surveillance and identify the unique, sustainable value that the organization provides.
• Test product or service offerings in market (or simulated).
• Support marketing and sales as the subject matter expert, providing content and technology information to the organization's delivery channels.
• Support regulatory activities by writing testimony, responding to data requests, meeting with regulators and other IOUs, and providing content for regulatory filings.
• Develop product briefs detailing incentive levels, technology information and verification, service offering (if applicable), and the high-level go-to-market strategy.
• Develop policies and procedures for the product or service.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• A Bachelor's Degree. MBA strongly preferred.
• Three or more years experience in product management, product marketing, strategy development, or related fields for a technology based product or service.
• A Technical Bachelor's Degree, preferably engineering
• Strong understanding of data driven product development and product lifecycles.
• Demonstrated ability to be effective working in a matrix organization.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to execute.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Utility experience preferred with subject matter expertise in at least one of the following areas: Energy Efficiency, Demand Response, Energy Conservation or enabling technologies.
• Knowledge of technical specifications and/or installation requirements for residential retrofit products.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a cross functional team through the product development process
• Experience in the low income housing sector or with residential (single family or multifamily) program design or implementation
• Demonstrated understanding of market research.
• Demonstrated ability to develop sound strategy and execute flawlessly.
• Demonstrated ability to lead without authority.
• Excellent verbal communication, initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills.
• Detailed, fact-based decision-making
