Senior Product Manager 

Our client is looking for a Product Marketing Manager. This is in the oil and gas industry and will be dealing with product development, sales, and marketing. You should have experience in global marketing and management. You should also have managed product launches, developed and executed strategic product marketing plans, and are able to communicate with engineers, management, and customers. Experience in the Valve Industry is a MUST!


Custom Product Expert and Strategy Development:

• Serves as the market expert for products

• Collects and analyzes customer input and feedback through Voice of the Client surveys, customer interviews and focus groups to identify unmet customer needs, improvement opportunities for existing products and generate ideas for new products and services

• Develop strategies and lead the vision and roadmap for the assigned product line

• Manage the designated products through the entire Product Life Cycle ( i.e. Idea Screen, Preliminary Investigation, Business Case, Development, Qualification and Implementation & Launch)

• Develop Business Cases to evaluate opportunities for new products , services , markets , pro duct extensions and development ; review market landscape, competitive analysis, assumptions, risks and cost - benefit analysis

• Responsible for describing the customer needs through an analysis of market needs, user personas and usage scenarios

• Partners with R&D to develop product requirement specifications and designated team members to define the minimum viable product s by evaluating the features, benefits and cost trade - offs

• Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies for existing and new products, including: segment selection, penetration plans, technical product positioning, sales tools and sales training

External and Internal Customers:

• Identify and engage lead customers for new products to ensure rapid market acceptance to gather early customer feedback and testimonials

• Partners with cross - functional teams to develop comprehensive marketing launch plans for new products to ensure success in the market

• Lead and influence pricing by understanding market price, cost drivers and impact to margins; develop pricing strategies for new and existing product and service offerings to maximize the revenues and margins

• Develop value propositions for product users; deliver value selling coaching to sales teams

• Actively provides support to the Sales teams in developing channels

• Evaluate s product and service competitiveness by assessing competitors’ strengths and weaknesses; develop strategies to address these

• Partners with Marketing CRM Specialist and Brand Communications Lead to develop materials (brochures/animation), programs and support for growth plans; ensure consistency of messages across media

• Provides support to the Sales team to generate demand for products by providing sales tools and training

• Guide the marketing programs by balancing revenues with program costs

• Responsible for product positioning, setting up value proposition, messaging and unique selling proposition

• Responsible for developing and executing an “End of Life” Plan for a product and ensuring that a product is discontinued with a smooth transition while avoiding negative consequences

• Identify and provide assistance with acquisitions

• Participates in sales calls when necessary

• Responsible for formulating and tracking key metrics for designated product lines

• Establish and builds relationships across departments while bridging gaps between Engineering, Sales and the customer

• Actively collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing , and Sales from development through all phases of the development process cycle, and may occasionally leads as Project Manager

• Travel: 30% to 40% required
