Senior Print/Packaging Designer

Our client, the internal agency of a major CPG firm, is seeking a Mid-Sr. Level Graphic Designer to join their in house creative agency. Under the supervision of the Creative Director and Art Director, the Graphic Designer develops design recommendations for specific in house divisions.

Projects:
Traditional marketing collateral for print, packaging design, in store POP, displays and other projects.
May also be utilized for quick turn presentations within for division and corporate. Although designer will interact with a team, i.e., Art Director, fellow designers, project managers, the candidate should be able to create the design concept, have experience in pitching to high level stakeholders and be skilled in final production/completion.
SPEED and Quick Turns are key

Requirements:
At least 5-7 years of professional design experience
Proficient in design programs such as Adobe Photo Shop, Illustrator and In Design
Ability to create stories w/ newly created or preexisting elements
Strong portfolio showcasing design skills and clean design aesthetic.

Understanding of design layout applications - typography, layout, color, images, shapes and font.
Background in print and/or packaging with digital as a nice to have.
Use to working with renderings of current size and proposed new package sizes/offerings. Good understanding of design mechanics, 2D & 3D rendering standards.
Clear Focus on conceptual innovation
Understanding of the CPG industry

Duration -
This is a long term contract position in the Glendale area. Approximately 40 hours a week, occasional pre-approved overtime might be required.
