Senior Marketing Manager, Channel Marketing

Come and work for one of the world’s largest scientific membership associations and one of the top ten science publishers in the world. This client has an immediate temp to perm need for a Senior Marketing Manager, Channel Marketing to sit on-site in their Washington, DC office.

Position will report into the the Sales & Marketing Department, which handles the sales & marketing for 38 journals and related print and online products.

The Senior Marketing Manager, Channel Marketing is responsible for the planning and administration of marketing strategies and campaigns to generate sales from and increase awareness and brand preference with institutions, buying groups, and consortia.

This position will represent the direct sales needs and interests of the global institutional sales teams and client's major library markets to the marketing team members to assist in the creation and execution of appropriately targeted marketing initiatives to institutions and their respective patrons; collaborate with the director of marketing and creative services manager to reinforce the client's Publications brand in, and with respect to, the library and institutional market; participate in strategic product plans, introductions, and training as well as pricing analysis and presentations.

Responsibilities:
1. Creates and executes annual marketing plan to generate revenue from institutional customers through the sale of any and all client Publications products, packages, and services.
2. Manages communication strategy of product, pricing and promotions information to the sales team and global distributors.
3. Develops seasonal branding and promotion campaigns aimed to position client as a publisher of choice. Conduct competitive analysis on commercial and rival Society pricing and library outreach programs and make recommendations to effectively counter.
4. Works closely with the Directors of Sales, Director Marketing, Asst. Director Sales Operations and VP Sales on the annual strategic pricing review and recommendations presented to the client's Publications Governing Board.

Skills Required:
College degree (relevant field) or equivalent experience; usually has an advanced degree (relevant field) or equivalent experience. 7+ years of related experience. Experience in STM institutional marketing strongly preferred.
