Senior Manager of UI/UX

Aquent's mobility client is seeking a Senior Manager of UI/UX for a very exciting opportunity. This role will include 10 + direct reports. The opportunity is a temp-to-perm role.


Primary Responsibilities:
• Leads and champions the user experience and interaction direction for music product across a variety of devices (phone, tablet, TV, desktop PC/Web).
• Define, prioritize and drive deliverables aligning to our product roadmap including all user experience design assets to support decisions and the development of our products.
• Drive decisions for the interaction experience and with cross functional engineering and product management teams, and lead executive design reviews leveraging data and customer insight.
• Project manages interaction design team activities across a variety of projects.
• Manages and mentors a team of interaction designers responsible for product user experience and occasional marketing design activities.
• Leads interaction design development of projects (including flows, site maps, and wireframes) through entire product lifecycle, from initial concept explorations through final design deliverables, including the delivery of interaction design specifications and visual assets.
• Communicate design strategy and rationale to key stakeholders.
• Works in collaboration with the Visual Design Manager as well as multiple project owners across the company to ensure corporate design and business goals are met for each project.
• Leverage external research and trends for potential opportunities to consider or implement.
• Manages a system for archiving and storing project and assets.
• Develop interaction design standards and ensure all interaction standards are met within a fast-paced environment.


Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience in interaction design for a diverse range of interactive products and/or services. 5+ years of interaction design experience for mobile devices. 5+ years of managing an interaction design team of at least 8 designers. Experience as a Director of UX or UX Manager preferred.
• Proven experience designing user interfaces for Android mobile devices (phone and tablet).
• Significant and recent experience with an in-house corporate (i.e. – non-agency) product interaction design team is required.
• Excellent communication, planning, time-management, project management, prioritization, meticulous attention to detail, multi-tasking and follow-through skills.
• Strong working knowledge of the latest Adobe Creative Suite (including superior knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator), Microsoft Office, Flash, and HTML
• Familiarity of industry standards for Android mobile design
• Ability to concept both creatively and strategically.
• Ability to manage and work with multiple departments to deliver the best product.
• Strong visual design understanding.
• Must work well under pressure and be able to meet aggressive deadlines.
• Must be able to travel internationally at least once a quarter.

The Senior Manager of UI/UX Design will report directly to the Director of User Experience.
