Senior Manager of Photography - Must have Retail Photography Experience

Minimum 7 years of management experience required in a creative or production environment
Minimum 5 years experience in d digital photography, studio management and art direction.
Catalog, retail and/or fashion experience preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study or equivalent years of work experience required.

Regular attendance required.

• Proficiency in Mac OSX or PC computer and software
• Expert working knowledge Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, and Lightroom
• Proficient working knowledge of MS Office applications
• Strong project management, organizational and time-management skills
• Provide leadership direction on project requirements and deadlines
• Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Possess leadership, delegation and empowering skills
• Anticipate conflicts and makes recommendations
• Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to strict deadlines
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to listen for understanding
• Ensure a high level of technical quality and aesthetics for all photography created and distributed by the studio
• Possess a highly developed sense of composition
• Lead team of photographers, creative coordinators, producer, digital asset supervisor, studio operations supervisor and administrative staff that create, edit and manage photo assets for the organization
• Collaborate with all levels of Art Directors/Graphic Designers and Marketing teams on related issues
• Work closely with photo staff and customers in staging, lighting and retouching, fulfilling all project requirements and ensuring the highest technical and aesthetic qualities
• Ability to communicate in a professional manner with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers individually and on group projects, contribute and accept constructive criticism


• Maintain all related equipment and physical studio space
• Manages and schedules studio staff to photograph, retouch and deliver retouched images for use on packaging, visuals, print ads, direct mail, catalogs, and web sites
• Account for shot counts per team to meet ecommerce site requirements
• Oversee image processing and color correcting procedures
• Delegate and oversee Producer on lifestyle photography shoots
• Manage temporary associates and freelance vendors
• Assist photographers or coordinators in-studio or on-location, and other assigned projects as needed
• Manage the daily production schedule and stage locations
• Tracks and integrates all studio photography into a central image database
• Monitor all new image requests in order to reduce redundancies
• Trouble shoot issues and maintain all equipment by sending out for repair when necessary
• Seek out new technologies/equipment to improve efficiencies, cost, speed, and quality
• Recommend and negotiate the purchase of all photographic equipment and related software
• Evaluate, select and justify all new equipment, related software and vendors necessary to maintain and/or enhance the photo studio’s capabilities
• Manage costs of repairs, equipment purchases and model invoices on a regular basis and write budget requests annually
• Generate weekly analysis, documenting all photo activity and reports total cost savings for marketing customers
• Oversee producers, creative coordinators and photographers on creativity issues, keeping calendar up-to-date, and all other aspects of photo shoots
• Assist in preparation and some assembly of products when necessary
• Oversee the weekly payroll, and manages the vacation and sick days of staff
• Responsible for recruiting, interviewing and hiring all staff and providing performance feedback for review and staff development
• Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties
• Required to stay up-to-date on design trends
• Required to learn company policies and procedures
• Some travel required
• Required to learn company safety rules
