Critical to the day to day management, leadership, and ongoing development of this Corporations digital presence from a content management perspective, this senior management position will contribute greatly to the overall company mission of delivering exceptional customer experience online that will further grow and develop channels through innovation and strategy.

But before we get stuck in to the nuts and bolts of what this position is all about and what this particular client is looking for, lets confirm what this role is not.

First off its not a marketing role, nor is it an editorial content role. Its not a creative role either, but a role that is focused on production, online operations and channel management from a content lifecycle perspective, ie; working in a strategic capacity with Product and Marketing departments to determine how to best use the CMS platform to drive content out in the most effective and communicative way to the consumer and end user.

Very much a process and procedure orientated position, with more emphasis on production than development in this position the successful applicant will manage website operations across 4 of the most widely used portals in Australia today. With daily site traffic in the many millions the scale of day to day operations as you can imagine is considerable and as such, the reporting line consists in total of 25.

With the expectation of you to not online drive considerable channel growth through innovation and strategy, developing business cases to support strategic directon to gain funding and approval, you’ll need to stay abreast of emerging content strategies, trends, tools, and technologies.

In this role you’ll be given the freedom and flexibility to explore and develop opportunities to improve the customer experience from a content perspective across all relevant channels by way ongoing refinement to customer centred designs.

Along with the leadership requirement comes the budget expense management, which as you would expect is also in the many millions, so all in all what we have here is a senior position that requires not only a proven online production or operations director very much at home in enterprise scale CMS’ but a people manager, mentor, and leader. An engaging stakeholder negotiator, and true digital native.

To be more specific if you are wanting to be considered for this role, 10+ years work experience in online and content management, e-commerce, digital production, online sales and service channels, with a further 5 years in exceptional leadership and people management would be ideal as during this time you would have had a great deal of experience in advocating content strategy based upon your expert understanding of content delivery and management, and deep working knowledge of user centred design.

If you’re already familiar with the financial services / banking sector then that’s great however broad experience across high traffic transactional websites is a must given the scale of this role and all that is at stake from a risk and compliance perspective.
