Senior Manager - SEO

Want to work with a highly regarded online search marketing team? This person will join the organic search marketing team as a Senior SEO Manager and play a vital role the daily management of our client's organic search optimization. The ideal candidate should have organic SEO experience that includes proven results in developing and optimizing campaigns to meet business objectives. Must be able to thrive in a fast paced environment and is someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, data-driven and comfortable working within a team. This role will be responsible for efficiently driving search traffic to generate student inquiries. We’re looking for an SEO genius who wants an opportunity to have an impact on the business. This role will report to the Director of Search Marketing and will be based in San Francisco.

Primary Accountabilities
Works with the marketing team on content optimization and development
• Manages and defines SEO forecasts, monitoring, and detailed reporting on search engine KPI’s and their impact on defined business goals
• Manages vendor relationships relating to SEO-specific projects
• Keeps pace with the changes in the SEO industry and trends to ensure compliance and efficiency with the latest SEO guidelines and algorithms.
• Educates internal resources on the importance of SEO
• Manage external link building for web properties to ensure SEO benefit for the organization
• May specialize in technical elements (code) of SEO

Implements strategies to increase search engine traffic to the company’s website through SEO techniques such as meta tagging, indexing, link building, keyword ranking and overall site architecture and content optimization.

Researches and evaluates new traffic trends and identifies new optimization opportunities. Assesses search outcomes related to sites or advertising/marketing campaigns. Ensures that optimization opportunities are identified and initiatives taken to increase search engine ranking. Implements search engine performance tracking and assesses search outcomes related to sites or advertising/marketing campaigns.

Has wide-ranging experience, and uses professional concepts and organizational objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.

Candidates should have strong technical skills including basic understanding of HTML, javascript, XML and content management systems as it relates to publishing content on the web.

• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and directly related experience, is required.
• About 8 years experience with organic search engine optimization.
• Strong analytical/problem solving skills and attention to detail
• Exceptional experience with Excel, SQL, SAS or other data and metrics software
• Ability to juggle multiple initiatives and new campaigns simultaneously
