Aquent’s utility client located in San Francisco is seeking an Internal Communications Contractor - will support the internal communications needs of Human Resources.

Department Overview
Internal Communications is a dedicated group in the Corporate Affairs function that provides strategic employee communications support on projects aligned with top business priorities for the purpose of increasing employee engagement.

Position Summary
A communications generalist providing strategic counsel as well as write, plan and coordinate communication plans. The ideal candidate will have experience developing strategic plans and managing multiple complex tasks and projects concurrently.

• Develop written materials: web and newsletter content, documents, presentations, e-mail messages, etc.
• Help develop and implement new print, electronic or face-to-face employee communications channels, including production of videos or other multi-media communication
Research and Development:
• Suggest articles/stories for web, newsletter, employee outreach, etc.
• Help create key messages/positioning that support the needs of the business
• Determine best communications vehicle to reach target audience

Project Management:
• Establish strategic timelines for communications event/messages that meet needs of the business
• Design, develop and implement complete project plans

• Prioritize work based on immediate need and impact to the business
• Use sound business judgment to craft messages and communications approaches
• Provide communications insight/coaching to key business partners
• Collect information and develop strategies for addressing and communicating the issues
• Keep multiple stakeholders on task according to project plan
• Ensure coordination of efforts and consistency in messaging with stakeholders
• Manage and maintain internal/external business partnerships

Additional Responsibilities:
• Limited, but occasional travel required (Northern and Central California)

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Journalism, Communications, or related experience.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in corporate communications or related field
• Minimum of 3 years experience in MS Office products: Word, Excel, Power Point

• Minimum of 3 years experience with media channels (print, web posting, video production)
• Minimum of 3 years experience editing and proofreading
• Experience supporting Human Resources communication initiatives including Employee Development.
