Senior Interaction Designer

Our client, a leading in design and engineering software company in San Francisco, is seeking a user experience designer to join their web optimization team.

The ideal candidate:
- is proficient in both interactive and visual design for the web.
- will possess a passion for great design and be willing to push the boundaries and try new ideas.
- is a visually articulate, inventive designer, who has a detailed understanding of how to take design ideas and translate them into effective user-based interactive experiences.
- will work closely with a cross-functional team of web optimization experts, writers, developers and analysts responsible for identify and experimenting with new web experiences that delight customers and optimize business results.

Responsibilities:
- Balance workload to guarantee design quality in every deliverable
- Partner with key stakeholders to identify, document, and evangelize user-centered design that delivers results
- Determine the most appropriate methodology for design; storyboards, interaction patterns, prototypes, and other iterative artifacts
- Contribute to methodology and deliverables for our iterative, user-centered design processes
- Maintain familiarity with our products to ensure compatibility with features shared across our portfolio
- Be able to quickly shift directions and focus on multiple projects of different size, scope and outcome.
- Embrace experimentation and be bold about testing new very different ideas and experiences
- Contribute to the maturity of the discipline of web design. This includes contributing to projects, creating and refining processes, tools and templates that can be applied company-wide

Requirements:
- 8-12 years of professional interaction design experience with multi-disciplinary design teams
- Portfolio demonstrating superior design skills, achieved through a user-centered design process
- Strong communications skills: written, verbal and visual
- Experience designing b-to-b and b-to-c websites for leading technology/software companies
- Expertise in modern web design development processes and concepts
- Strong skills in problem definition and user-needs analysis, including the ability to focus on the "right" problems to solve in order to advance strategic goals
- Ability to partner with user research to identify and fix usability issues from ethnographic observation.
- Ability to solve complex problems and drive projects from concept through implementation
- Interact with and influence others effectively via teamwork and diplomacy
- Results-oriented working style in line with Company’s core values
- Demonstrated ability to successfully drive several large projects simultaneously
- Excellent working knowledge of design software; Adobe Creative Suite, Flash, etc.
- Degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or Art

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is a 12 month, full-time, W-2 contract position located in San Francisco, CA
This position is not eligible for telecommute or offsite work
