Senior Graphic Designer

Vitamin T Client is looking for a Mid to Senior Level Designer with experience in Corporate Branding (Agency background is a PLUS) to assist for a 3-4 week contract on site in Falls Church, VA.

Role Summary:
This individual will support senior creatives in producing all design work necessary from building brands, identities and marketing campaigns, to developing eBooks, to designing websites for traditional and mobile platforms. The position will focus on the production aspect of the creative for both print and digital environments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Provides creative design support to projects by:

· Producing high quality work

· Helping with the building and production of various creative tasks and output mediums

· Helping solve client’s problems

· Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and build on existing ones

· Taking direction from sr. creatives and building on it…

· Participating in brainstorming sessions with the creative team

· Interpreting the client’s needs and making changes based on client input

· Keeping abreast of current graphic design trends and tools

· Understanding and working with style guides, templates, and established production process

· Meeting and exceeding client expectations

· Multi-tasking across various projects

· Communicating effectively with and fully supporting the Creative Group and Consulting practice

2. Provides support to all internal teams by:

· Participating in strategic sessions

· Assuming backup roles when needed

Position Qualifications:

· BFA in related field preferred or equivalent education and applied experience.

· 3-5 years minimum professional experience in graphic design

· 2 years minimum in-house design experience

· Experience with marketing and branding strategies

· Must work in the Falls Church HQ office

· Required skills:

o Adobe CS5 with emphasis on InDesign and Illustrator

· Preferred skills:

o Adobe Acrobat

o Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

o After Effects, Premiere

o Flash, Dreamweaver


· Optional skills:

o Knowledge with mobile platforms

o Knowledge of audio/video recording and editing

o 3D tools

o Javascript, Actionscript

· Knowledge about emerging creative trends and new technologies

· Knowledge of web development and technologies, as they relate to design and creating client-appropriate experiences

· Ability to independently research, learn new techniques and troubleshoot

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Ability to take minimal direction and move forward on task

· Diverse design portfolio with emphasis on marketing and communication work required. Portfolio should showcase a solid sense of design, color, and composition. An online portfolio with samples is highly encouraged.

· Secret clearance or ability to qualify for Secret clearance
