Senior Graphic Designer

Provide graphic design support to corporate business units, including: tradeshows, external/internal corporate events, technical publications, marketing programs collateral, corporate communications, product launches, and other Marketing Services projects. Manage printing and production of corporate marketing brochures and other collateral. Manage all aspects of offset or digital printing, including: preparing/sending files, reviewing proofs, press checks, and shipping arrangements. Be able to meet tight and changing deadlines while maintaining a great attitude and positive outlook.

Job duties include but are not limited to:
Design and Graphics (70%)

Execute graphic design projects based on messaging/creative input and brand standards
Optimize high-level PowerPoint presentations, including animation
Design marketing, tradeshow, and promotional collateral such as flyers, posters, brochures, booth graphics, banners, sales tools, promotional items, and other advertising material as required
Create original graphics as needed to support design projects
Consult with other departments to develop graphic designs and advertising materials which support strategic objectives


Production (25%)

Revise and/or update existing collateral, projects, and images
Format collaterals in templates
Photo optimization and clean-up


Other (5%)

Develop and improve design processes and standards
Organize and maintain image and digital asset library
Attend and participate in meetings as required
Maintain professional business relations with communication distributors and suppliers, external contacts and trade professionals business
Coordinate marketing activities with printers, service agencies, advertisers, and vendors to complete design projects on time

Skills:
Demonstrated excellence on both MAC and PC platforms
Expert skills in applications including, but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite 6 (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat) and Microsoft Office
Expert knowledge of concept, layout, typography, color, and branding
Expert knowledge of production techniques including printing, paper and materials
Experience should include on-press supervision and extensive experience with both digital and offset printing

Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while managing time efficiently
Ability to be a self-starter, identifying problems and initiating solutions independently

Stays current with design trends, production, and technology skills

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field
5+ years relevant experience
Experience should include on-press supervision and extensive experience with both digital and offset printing
Scientific background and/or understanding of biology and genetics strongly preferred
Comfortable working with paper and print vendors on bidding, managing and tracking print jobs
A rich digital portfolio of work examples
