CREATIVE POSITION OPENING

Title: Senior Graphic Designer, Creative Services
Location: Chicago, IL or Washington, DC

We are seeking a Senior Graphic Designer with experience in both print and
electronic formats for development of a wide-range of fundraising products and
tools for our non profit partners and their cause initiatives. Clients include the
American Red Cross, Special Olympics, United Way Worldwide, 4-H, Feeding
America and Goodwill International among others.

The Senior Graphic Designer will be a core member of our Philanthropic
Communications Team and will be a significant player in the process of
managing clients and product development—from providing strategic input at
the beginning of a project to leading and building out the vision and architecture
of the final deliverable.

The Senior Graphic Designer will be responsible for executing creative and
producing polished, final visual pieces for a range of donor audiences (corporate,
foundation, individual/consumer). He/she has a background in graphic design,
experience and ability to build effective and visual pieces for print and electronic
mediums. These include, PowerPoint presentations, turn-key toolkits, annual
reports, stewardship reports, sales-sheets, brochures, case statements, web
pages and proposals in support of fundraising and marketing initiatives for
nonprofits. Since many of our communications move in a PowerPoint format,
advanced skill in this area is a key job pre-requisite.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Works collaboratively with team of agency strategists (national) to develop
designed fundraising and marketing collateral for a select number of top-tier
national and global causes. Takes the lead in providing a creative direction/vision
for the finished product.

Products include (but not limited to): Master fundraising PowerPoint
presentations (customizable), partnership stewardship reports (electronic and
print), high-level (mulit-million dollar) fundraising requests and proposals (pdfs),
programmatic/platform info-graphics (electronic pdfs and print), turnkey
activation toolkits (electronic and print), sponsorship sell sheets (electronic) and
program information one pagers (electronic), campaign brand identity and logo
development (various formats), product activation mock-ups (electronic), annual
reports (print), brochures (print and electronic), web page/micro-site design
(electronic) and event signage (print).

Responsible for managing the interpretation and implementation of client

creative guidelines in development of all aspects of product. Provides guidance
and advice to client contacts as needed on design/creative direction.
Works and meets directly with clients by phone or in person as needed.

Skills & Requirements:

Seven to ten years of creative design work in print and digital platforms

Advanced/Expert in PowerPoint design, Adobe CS products — InDesign,
Illustrator, Photoshop. Familiarity with Flash and Keynote helpful. Ability to work
with all Microsoft Office products.

Clean design sense and approach—ability to take complex information and
deliver clear strong messages through design for highest impact. Understanding
of usability fundamentals and principles in design, particularly for electronic/web
medium.

Basic copy-writing skills. High attention to detail.

Creative mind. Ability to think outside the box and create a vision for designed
pieces for fundraising/donor/consumer audiences

Strong project management and time management: manage multiple ongoing
deliverables.

Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
and fluctuating schedules.

Diplomatic, strong customer-service ethic, ability to liaise with diverse clients.

BS in Visual arts, graphic design or equivalent combination of education and
experience.

Experience working in or with nonprofits. Understanding of donor and consumer
audiences.

Ability to travel as needed (likely once or twice per week to meet with clients in
Chicago or DC-area)

Ability to work from home.
