The Sr. Global Art Director is responsible for the global design strategy and execution of a major cosmetic company's brand experience across all channels including: Conveying overall creative strategy into break-through design direction, photography, advertising, marketing communication, packaging, in-store graphics and digital. They will work collaboratively with the broader creative team from concept through execution, and present to business owners and key stakeholders.

Additionally, the Sr. Global Art Director is responsible for the ideation and execution of all graphics and global brand consistency. This individual must have extensive experience managing a large multi-functional creative team in a deadline driven environment with competing deliverables.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading cross-functional teams to deliver break-through creative that changes the competitive landscape in a variety of retail settings with a strong emphasis in packaging. Exceptional strategic thinking and excellent communication skills are a must for articulating the strategic vision and providing succinct feedback.

Responsibilities

Conceptual direction for the design strategy and execution for 2 separate brands under the parent client.
Ideation and execution of innovative, breakthrough packaging ideas for 2 brands under the parent client.
Photography Direction including selection of photographers, talent and production involved in high caliber photo shoots for on-figure and product photography. Responsible for pitching photo direction to internal clients.
Generate highly conceptual ideas for seasonal campaigns: Conception through execution. Must be able to give and receive constructive feedback that results in elevating the overall creative
Direct and inspire creative team to deliver multiple deliverables in fast-paced studio environment.
Work with team to design in-store graphics, windows, seasonal presentations, and press kits.
Ensure quality and consistency across all communication channels including campaign, packaging, print, in-store and digital.
Translate global print and in store design strategy into digital properties including Facebook, Twitter, online and email marketing.
Maintaining style guide and communicating design update to the greater creative team.
Must be able to attract, inspire, motivate and retain top talent.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Fine Arts, Graphic Design
10 - 12 years of relevant creative experience in a growing, fast-paced retail brand with experience in fashion or beauty.
8 years of solid brand design experience, with substantial exposure to a wide variety of disciplines, including brand strategy, identity development, print, packaging, advertising and collateral.
4+ years of experience managing a large, experienced creative team.
Diverse portfolio with experience in graphic design, packaging and photography.
Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and other required tools. Ability to execute creative across all media (in addition to providing art direction to the creative team).
Demonstrated strategic-thinking and creativity with excellent practical skills in getting things done.
Strong organizational skills are a must.
