Senior Footwear Product Designer

A global lifestyle footwear company, known for their iconic sneakers and boots, is looking for a Freelance Senior Footwear/Product Designer to join their team in New York, NY.

Responsibilities
• Collaborate with peers to ensure design ideas align with priorities and direction
• Create and execute design tech packs for factories; assist in correcting prototypes
• Design from concept to reality including category trend research, ideation, project direction, tech-pack creation and revisions.
• Proactively follow the execution of all product construction, color, form, style, detailing, fit, performance, material application, graphic application and cost / value requirements within product creation timelines.
• Incorporate innovative design and manufacturing processes to increase product value and performance.
• Designers should be flexible, organized and have the ability to multi-task.
• Clearly communicates changes to ensure timely completion of each project.
• Leverages excellent knowledge and practice in all phases of product execution; shares knowledge and advancement with others.
• Communicates and presents design concepts to various internal and external audiences along with more senior Designers.

Skill/Requirements
• 5+ years work experience; accessories a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Design
• Demonstrated understanding of current fashion trends
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and MS Office suite preferred
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
• Elevates craft and incorporates relevant accessories craft into their design

Education
· Bachelor’s Degree in a design related field (foreign equivalent accepted)
· Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, InDesign and PowerPoint.
· Model making and footwear relevant craft skills.
· Knowledge of manufacturing processes. Ideally, have spent time in sample rooms and factories.
