GPJ is looking for a superstar Senior Experience Strategist (Senior XS) with a collaborative spirit to help lead key experience campaign and event efforts on the IBM business out of our Austin office. You’ll inspire your teammates, collaborate with clients and ensure GPJ-quality work. Our ideal candidate has proven strategic ideation skills, is a dynamic presenter and has recent experience working on epic experiential campaigns in the high-tech sector.

The Senior XS understands both the worlds of strategic thinking and conceptual, creative execution. He or she envisions communications campaigns and programs with a ‘big ideas’ perspective, and is capable of delivering storytelling, messaging and design approaches across specific physical and digital media assets, tools and content-creation services. He/she will be expected to translate and integrate strategic direction at the highest level, and shape it into elements, assets and media that can be produced by creative, development and project management colleagues. This position is an important bridge between strategic planning and creative delivery – and is therefore suited to both the strategic and creative mindsets.

The Senior XS also works collaboratively with the client services team to uncover insights and then turn those insights into ideas that meet client objectives. The position includes planning and executing throughout each event experience’s lifecycle – pre, during, post – throughout discovery, messaging, editing, follow-up; acting as a leading member of the multi-disciplinary experience creative strategy team. The Senior XS ensures brand experience is designed and produced according to strategic concept, the client brand essence and corporate character.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 Research: Understand client briefings, client objectives, target audiences, personas, messaging, value
propositions and content for event experience activity. Keep up to date/monitors trends in the industry.
 Branding and campaign implementation: Work closely with creative directors and designers to provide insight
and message direction. Work closely with program strategists to ensure alignment to program objectives.
 Brief creation: Gather research, prepare and conduct discovery calls, and then develop experience briefs. Brief
internal or external design teams – concentrating on experience design (including 2D/3D) and interactive media
where appropriate – managing marketing tools and applications.
 Content and messaging: Develop expertise in subject matter and provide recommendations to client on content,
messaging and information flow. Develop message plans and content maps to drive content and messaging for
all touchpoints throughout the experience.
 Writing: Author/edit both short and long-form marketing copy. Helpful to have a multi-disciplinary perspective
from print, multimedia, digital, social, etc.
 Evaluation: Evaluate event performance and analyze evaluation forms/feedback. Develop and present timely
analysis, research and recommendations to improve future events.
 Guidelines: Participate in creating event guidelines and planning experience resource and campaign kits.
 Mentoring: Share expertise, experience and insights with team and peers.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
 Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. MA or MBA preferred but not required.
 5-8 years of cross-discipline marketing (digital, experiences, PR, social, etc.), in an agency preferably for global
technology clients.
 Excellent creative and artistic presentation.
 Strong portfolio of work that meets measurable objectives.
 Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
 Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills.
 Strong client relationship skills.
