Senior Event Marketing Manager

We are looking for a organized and enthusiastic Senior Event Marketing Manager to join a top fortune 500 company and their growing team. The primary accountability for this role will be increasing awareness of the Commercial Card business through the strategy, planning and execution of event marketing programs. Event marketing programs include client seminars, client conferences, trade shows, client entertainment and internal meetings. The position reports directly to the Manager of Commercial Card Event Marketing & Creative and will work closely with sales and relationship management, product marketing, product management, executive lead team members and other internal & external partners.

Essential Job Functions:
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of our client’s card business.
• Help set broader marketing objectives, and manage the role event marketing plays in marketing plans.
• Coordinate the development and implementation of messages and themes, which align with the business' overall strategy.

Execution of event marketing programs:
• Provide objectives, budgets, project plans, on-site support, communication, evaluation and reporting.
• Build and manage project teams, engaging appropriate internal and external partners.
• Ensure marketing objectives, business strategy and brand guidelines drive planning decisions.
• Coordinate and influence stakeholder buy-in.
• Manage and operate within budget. Track and forecast spend.
• Establish production schedules, track progress of activities and follow-up as required.
• Identify and coordinate speaking opportunities as they relate to event marketing programs.
• Identify and coordinate advertising opportunities as they relate to event marketing programs.
• Identify and coordinate event-related public relations efforts as they relate to event marketing programs.
• Manage events on site as needed.
• Integrate messages/themes into programs by directing the creation of invitations, booth & staging designs, speaking points, presentations, related advertising, etc.
• Assist in the identification and selection of client entertainment activities.
• Negotiate vendor contracts.

Qualifications/Skills:
• Bachelor's degree or related experience
• Minimum 7 years event marketing and program management experience or 5yrs of Card Services event marketing experience
• Experience in banking or financial services a plus
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, including ability to interface with senior management and work well with colleagues across businesses and functions
• Strong leadership qualities and ability to deliver work without needing extensive direction
• Ability to execute on one's own without relying on delegation
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to work under deadlines quickly, efficiently and with minimal errors
• Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong PC skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Travel required, extensive at times
