Senior E-commerce Research Analyst

Aquent is assisting our Fortune 500 client in their search for a Senior E-commerce Research Analyst who can contribute to the success of key initiatives as it relates to their e-commerce business. This role is a 1 year contract sitting on-site in SeaTac, WA. The Senior E-commerce Research Analyst will play a key role in conducting evaluations of data trends and provide operational reporting, forecasting, and recommendations to guide the direction and success of e-commerce. Expertise in analytics and tools such as Adobe Analytics, deep technical skills, exceptional written and verbal skills, and demonstrated organizational effectiveness skills are key requirements in fulfilling the duties of this position. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, monitor, analyze, and interpret large data sets to measure KPIs across various e-commerce platforms including desktop, mobile, mobile apps, and kiosks. 
  • Generate and maintain regular scorecards and dashboards gathering various data points including product performance, marketing effectiveness, purchase paths, traffic flows, geographical market, and customer segmentation. 
  • Identify and monitor customer behavior patterns and distill the information into conclusions with relevant, actionable recommendations. 
  • Collaborate with business and IT teams to determine data and reporting requirements for new features. 
  • Perform various ad-hoc analysis to root cause issues and understand key business drivers. 
  • Streamline management reports and processes to produce documents that identify actionable differences across our product lines and business units. 
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of our marketing and merchandising promotions. 
  • Create, manage and maintain documentation and repositories for analytical information, training documentation, implementation documents and critical internal process documents. 
  • Drive new tagging implementations and ensure data integrity validation testing in new releases. 
  • Communicate and present data, insights, and recommendations to all levels of the company, clearly and concisely. 
  • Pull data from many sources into centralized dashboards for easy understanding (Tableau) 
  • Develop baselines and forecasting models by product and customer segment. 
  • Keep up with emerging technology to continuously improve reporting processes and the usability and efficiency of reporting. 
  • Ensure our analytic tools meet internal customers' needs while satisfying scalability, reliability and other performance requirements. 
  • Evangelize throughout the company the power and value using data for various business initiatives and their contribution to the strategic goals of the organization.
  • Actively train, lead and mentor other analysts in best practices and provide continuous support as systems and technologies evolve. 
  • Take a lead role in Key Initiatives and vital analysis projects. 
  • Other duties as assigned 


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business, math, technical field or related discipline 
  • 4 years of relevant experience in the areas of Business Intelligence, Analytics or Consulting in an e-commerce environment 
  • Experience in data mining with large, complex data sets and SQL knowledge 
  • Proven experience in training users on analytic tools 
  • Advanced Tableau, Adobe Analytics and Excel skills 
  • Mastery of running analysis, interpreting results and forecasting 
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail 
  • Technical Adobe Analytics skills (implementation, tagging specs)  
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, attention to detail and a strong self-starter 
  • Passion for numbers, data and metrics, but also for delivering analysis of highest quality 
  • Understanding of internet technologies such as HTML, JavaScript and URL structures 
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic environment 
  • Proven ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships across various workgroups 
  • Proven ability to transform data into actionable insights 


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Tag Management experience including Tealium, Ensighten, and Adobe TMS 
  • Airline industry or travel/hospitality knowledge 
  • Multivariate, A/B, and optimization testing methods 
  • Special consideration will be given to candidates with PHP scripting
