Senior Director of Data and Analytics

Our client is a major pharmaceutical distributor and health care information technology company. They are looking for a strong Senior Director of Data and Analytics to come onboard to be responsible for the management of the entire Data Analytics team. This Senior Director will manage the development of and deployment of overall vision, mentoring and growth of team, administration of prioritization and overall productivity of the team. This role will be a primary partner to the sales, marketing, and client services teams in support of customer retention and growth. The role will be responsible to develop and deliver business insights to the internal team and directly to customers through integration of primary and secondary data sources, primary research, and customer analyses.

Candidates will need to have a broad understanding of pharmaceutical data, including transaction data, and sources to leverage in order to answer business questions most effectively. The role works with internal teams and directly with customer brands to understand business objectives and to apply analytics in support marketing program recommendations.

Responsibilities
• Interpret data insights to support manufacturer strategies, program effectiveness and strategic brand/program recommendations.
• Strategic consultant both internally and externally, providing data-based strategic insights that grow customer relationships while identifying and recommending growth opportunities.
• Support providing objective quantitative data analyses and insights to address business issues and to support strategic decision making with pharmaceutical manufacturers.
• Assist in the understanding of ROI of brand efforts with MPRS and provide messaging that supports the effectiveness results and demonstrates value of MPRS products and services.
• Analyze longitudinal patient-level data to generate program and market insights and measure performance for brand teams while creating positioning that makes the analyses actionable to the brand.
• Design and execute analytical measurement techniques to gauge the effectiveness of brand initiatives and make recommendations to customers and internal teams on the effectiveness of different tactics.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, and/or Statistics. Masters Degree (MS) in Marketing Research or Statistics preferred.
• Must have 7+ years experience in pharmaceutical industry preferably within medication adherence field. Prior experience developing, managing adherence/relationship marketing solutions preferred.
• Minimum of 10+ years successful experience functioning in an analytics development and presentation role
• 5 + years direct management of professional services teams
• Outstanding communication skills; ability to connect to people at all levels
• Strong understanding of data analytics, preferably within compliance/persistency fields
• Advanced presentation and delivery skills
• Enthusiastic, self starter with confident, high energy approach to business challenges
• Experience in budget modeling, forecasting and profitability analysis
• Outstanding problem resolution and negotiation skills
Critical Skills
• Proficiency in analytical tools is required
• Expertise in complex pharma data analysis and resulting presentation preparation
• Demonstrated ability to structure and conduct analyses to generate insight and recommendations
• Comfortable with presenting insights and recommendations to stakeholders at various high levels of the organization and directly to customers
• Experience with pharmaceutical data sources and experience working with CRM data systems
• Ability to manage a team of professional data analysts and ensure high level of performance toward established goals.
• Provide tactical direction, including best practice recommendations to internal project teams and external customers.
• Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures that provide the greatest possible efficiencies, deliver optimal value for customers and meet all regulatory and policy requirements.
• Works with peers from Sales, Marketing, Operations, IT, and Finance to assist in understanding and meeting customer requirements. Provide direction and coordinate activities among supporting MPRS teams as needed.
• Use a thorough understanding of market trends and opportunities to align customer needs to a strategic plan and assist in the execution and growth of that plan.
