Our client, a higher education/publishing company focused on digital and print solutions, is hiring a Senior Director, Marketing Content and Creative to join their team in Boston on a full time permanent basis!

Responsibilities

This candidate will be a part of the centralized services group / strategic marketing services team for the company as a whole (higher ed) - you'll be working on individual product lines as well
This person must know how to put words and visuals/designs together to get messages out to the market place effectively. They should be able to tell their story from a company level / platform
Conduct a content and creative audit and inventory to create a centralized content and creative asset library
Develop content, creative programs, and design concepts
Lead a team of writers and designers to oversee their execution of all content and creative efforts - ensure they are on strategy, budget, and schedule
Analyze gaps in how their content inventory maps to their customer audiences and their specific customer journey requirements - create new content to fill those gaps
The team consists of 14 (this person has 4 direct reports) so this person needs to be a leader and drive / creative the strategy, but also be strong when it comes to people management, operations, etc.
Ability to handle the amount of collateral you'd be managing within the demand generation group
Ability to position a brand from a content and creative standpoint for leads


Required Qualifications & Experience

8+ years of B2B content management experience; blend of content strategy, management, analytics, creative campaign design, and brand management
3-5 years of leadership experience
Strong project management experience
A good understanding of creative and content execution
Ability to quickly turnaround materials - both traditional and digital
Candidates coming from ed-tech, media, editorial, or agency is preferred


Desired Characteristics & Fit

Since this is a replacement position, they are looking for skills that the previous employee lacked. This includes being able to thrive in the deadline nature of their business
Must have strong leadership skills - this person will have 4 direct reports and will be overseeing a team of 14.
Open to candidates with a background in publishing, but would even prefer ed-tech / technology based companies
Open to candidates who have a mix of a media editorial background as long as they have the media chops. Some agency media background, but also some experience on the corporate side would be great.
This person must be super flexible, fast paced, and lead the charge. Have a strong energy and passion for content marketing strategy
Weekly one on one meetings via Skype or phone with manager
Very light travel (once or twice a year)
Having a sense of humor is always a great thing - they're fairly informal overall
This person must have ownership and accountability for the success of the team
