Senior Digital Strategist

Our large pharma client seeks a well-rounded digital native to drive enterprise adoption of digital channels as a source of customer intelligence and a platform for world class marketing. As part of the Marketing Effectiveness Function (MEF), this candidate will report to the Director of Digital Strategy & Operations and will collaborate with Marketing Partners and other members of the MEF to design highly relevant digital customer experiences. S/he will synthesize digital and marketing performance data to deeply understand customer needs and will match that intelligence to business goals to design an optimal digital engagement strategy that creates a value exchange that advances our relevancy.

As a leader and a team player, the Digital Marketing Strategist will act as a subject matter expert to the businesses, external partners, and internal research functions to help interpret and leverage customer intelligence. The ideal candidate possesses a unique blend of business and analytical savvy – a big-picture understanding of business strategy and an insatiable curiosity that drives them to find the insights in the data. In current or previous roles s/he has been bridging the gap between customer intelligence and digital communications strategies and is capable of providing insights and analysis to drive our business forward.

The Digital Marketing Strategist plays a critical role in leading the development and implementation of our brands’ digital strategy. Specifically, the Digital Marketing Strategist is accountable for:

• Designing and implementing all digital projects as if a product manager on the brand team – taking full responsibility for achieving results
• Leading all partners to deliver their respective responsibilities while adhering to deadlines – regularly reviewing and evaluating progress against agreed upon timelines and budget
• Connecting the dots across our Connected Marketing group, as well as our Patient Engagement group, to ensure integration – sharing relevant information openly and seeking appropriate input from others

The ideal candidate is comfortable working within a large organization and has a strong interest in improving the customer experience by helping businesses utilize digital platforms to engage their target audiences in a highly relevant way. S/he is well-versed in a broad array of digital approaches and technologies to connect with consumers. S/he also has a proactive desire to keep well-versed on new digital trends and technologies.

Role Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the Marketing Partner and brand marketers to understand, define, align to, and document the overarching business objectives
- Lead the collaboration of digital intelligence-source agencies and partners to synthesize data and identify insights/white space opportunities that inform the digital engagement design
- Identify insights that align to the needs/goals of the brand/therapeutic area and the client more broadly
- Identify Business Intelligence (primary/secondary research) collaboration needs to fill known gaps raised through digital intelligence synthesis required to fuel the digital engagement design
- Lead translation of brand marketing strategy into a relevant digital engagement strategy grounded in the marriage of customer needs and business objectives
- Lead the development of intelligence reports that culminate in relevant, actionable recommendations to advance our use of digital channels and content marketing
- Collaborate across Marketing Effectiveness stakeholders to execute against the digital engagement strategy and ensure delivery of connected customer experiences
- Contribute to the development of digital marketing performance standards across the enterprise
- Analyze and optimize our digital marketing using data-driven rationale
- Liaise, consult and provide subject matter expertise to internal stakeholders, agencies and partners
- Share successes broadly to drive appropriate adoption across the enterprise

Qualifications:

- MBA preferred
- Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience
- Data synthesis and analysis that enables insight generation
- Development of relevant digital customer experiences grounded in customer insights and business goals
- Healthcare and non-Healthcare experience a plus
- Strong understanding of connected-customer concepts, digital approaches and enabling technologies
- Passion for advocating on behalf of customer needs
- Solid understanding of business and brand marketing
- Deep understanding of analytics and data-driven implications
- Strong people leadership and influencer skills
- Thoughtful in verbal and written communication
- Creative, collaborative and solutions oriented
- An empowered, self-directed and agile mindset & business approach. Must be adaptable to change
- Comfortable navigating large business structures
- Ability to organize, prioritize and meet multiple deadlines using available resources
