Our amazing education and e-learning client is looking for a Senior visual designer for a long term contract! For the right person, they would be open to converting to permanent after 6 months. They have a need for someone to work full time hours onsite in their Boston office (Back Bay) and the start date is as soon as possible. They are an online learning/education company in the publishing arena and have won awards for their excellent design work.

This person should have experience designing print pieces that convey other regions/ cultures (from travel or languages etc.) and needs to have the breadth and depth of experience required to provide over site while still being quite tactical. The job:

This is a heavily print design role - you'd be designing for book covers, interior design (of books), design of text books, marketing materials, and other collateral consistent with their brand identity. Some of their book covers have won huge recognition and awards so this is a role for someone with a sharp eye for visual design and layout. There might be some digital work at some point so we would be looking for someone who is versatile.

This person must be comfortable engaging and collaborating with different groups, and also presenting different ideas to upper management and those groups. You'll be working closely with the marketing team as well as the engineering (UX) team.

This person should also have strong conceptualization skills, be able to manage and talk with production team, and be comfortable getting feedback.

Our client is looking for someone with strengths in typography, problem solving, a good range of projects in their portfolio - mostly print. This person should be production savvy as they will have to do their own production sometimes. Most importantly, they need someone with strong design skills and good typography first and foremost.

Must be able to show strong conceptual skills, deliver exceptional typographic and visual design solutions across both print and digital product lines and services (internal and customer-facing), and demonstrate an understanding of branding and design systems.

You must be committed to improvement and innovation. You must have the ability to communicate, defend, and build consensus around the visual design direction to a cross-functional team including product stakeholders and senior executives and be comfortable with peer critique.

What you'll be doing:

•Create and design concepts for print products, marketing materials, etc
•Execute all design stages from initial ideation, creation of comps for presentation (print-based), through to final production.
•Formulate multiple, distinctive, design approaches for each project
•Extend and implement design templates created by the Design Director
