Senior Designer--Print & Digital (SF)*

Our client is a fast-growing, mission-driven financial services company that provides quality financial services for all: from protecting grandma’s money from scammers to providing supplemental financial tools that support people living with disabilities. 

They're looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic designer to own all aspects of their company’s design forward. This role will encompass both marketing strategy development as well as marketing execution. This is a high-impact marketing role for someone who is passionate about the company's mission and relishes the fact that every day they have the privilege of serving those who are often overlooked by big financial institutions. 

  • On-site in San Francisco
  • 40 hours per week
  • 3-6 month assignment, with potential to convert to perm

What you’ll do: 

  • Serve as design point of contact for all customer facing teams at the company 
  • The 3-6 month tasks will be 50% print, 30% digital (presentation friendly), 15% physical materials, 5% web. Fluent in PowerPoint and templates. 
  • Web design experience would be helpful but not necessary
  • Partner with our UX designer to ensure brand consistency throughout software and external facing media 
  • Partner closely with leadership to tell a consistent brand story 
  • Own direction and delivery of visual design projects across multiple channels and media, including printed collateral, email and other digital materials, our website, custom swag, and so on 
  • Analyze relevant data and customer insights to inform design 
  • Source updated stock imagery 
  • Create beautiful collateral for a variety of contexts, heavy on the print, some digital, research papers and white papers, and web design
  • Manage print cycle and ensure high-quality execution of print designs 
  • Work closely with the marketing team, but be a cross-functional asset 
  • Ensure design consistency and quality across all collateral 
  • Promote internal awareness of brand standards and processes 
  • Create and manage a functional visual style guide/library 

Who you are and your professional experience: 

  • 3+ years experience, preferably in a highly-regulated industry, like healthcare or pharmaceuticals, financial services a big plus 
  • Expertise in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
  • Adept at collaborating in Dropbox and Google Drive  
  • You love design and you’re a storyteller with a knack for creating compelling visuals, iconography, typography, and infographics
  • Experienced with and enthusiastic about print collateral and developing a great stock photo inventory  
  • Comfortable with the quick pace and shifting priorities of a startup
  • Excited to be the design brand owner and take their design from the startup phase to the highest quality professional look 
  • Happy working on a variety of collateral types, from conference banners to executive decks 
  • Happy working on materials for very different, very specific target audiences in the highly-regulated financial services space 
  • Excellent communication skills and delight in collaboration 
  • Obsessively detail-oriented, but don’t let the ideal get in the way of getting something out the door 
  • Your understanding that everyone, including our customers and your co-workers, experiences the world differently helps drive your design aesthetic 
  • Believe true creativity doesn’t come without constraints, and use them as a tool to help inform your work
