Senior Designer - In house & Retail

Our client, a well-established design production agency is looking for a talented Senior Designer, ideally with experience on in print and digital, to join their fast-paced, energetic team. The team provides multichannel production services, adapting existing local & global promotional / sales materials for print, online, email and apps. The work will be strongly consumer focused, with a retail element to the design work.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent crafting skills & have the conceptual ability to develop ideas, as well as following a style guide when required.


You will be responsible for the design and production of advertising media across a variety of types, including: POS, print, posters, brochures, websites, microsites, digital eyelites, eDMs, banners and mobile/tablet applications.

In this hybrid role you will be responsible for the translation of the creative idea into the print and digital space, and the quality of the interaction design and execution of the ideas within the company. As the Designer you will take responsibility for the execution and delivery of all print and digital assets, helping enable the organisation to realise its objectives. The role will initially be 90% print focused, however over a period of time you will assist the client to transition to a greater digital offering.


Overall Function:

As the designer, your mission is to make sure that the best tools and methods are being used to meet the company’s marketing goals.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement best practice digital processes, procedures and policies and drive continuous improvement in the design, delivery and management of the company’s digital assets

• Design, production and execution of a wide range of marketing material including brochures, POS, product catalogues, posters and ad hoc print requirements.

• Engage and influence senior internal stakeholders and build effective working relationships with a wide range of both internal and external partners to achieve desired digital outcomes

• Manage the day-to-day operations of all design production, following best practices.


Qualifications & Experience:

• Strong working knowledge of the standard web development toolbox, including HTML/CSS, Javascript and JavaScript frameworks, responsive design, cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.

• Exceptional print design experience across branded collateral for a varied output

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to discuss projects with colleagues who have little knowledge of digital production and tools.

• 5+ years in Art Direction & Digital Design role - extensive experience with creative projects, including leadership roles managing projects and staff.

• Bachelor's degree in design or equivalent.
