We are seeking an exceptional candidate with a passion for data, analytics, and entertainment to join our Business Intelligence team. The Entertainment & News Business Intelligence team is at the core of strategic and operational decisions for the world’s #1 broadcast network online. In this data heavy role, the candidate will work on our Entertainment flagship brands to support key business and product development decisions through meaningful insights derived from quantitative analysis and analytics.

Responsibilities
Design and perform detailed analysis to help deepen understanding of customer activity across all digital platforms including web, mobile and other advanced platforms. Techniques may include statistical analyses, mathematical models (conversions, churn, and retention), experiments (A/B testing), optimization, data mining, predictive analytics, data investigation, and reporting.

Collaborate with product owners to address business needs with data. Be able to effectively communicate quantitative findings, make and defend meaningful conclusions and recommendations, identify and interpret trends and relationships.

Identify and synthesize secondary research to complement primary research.

Be creative in approaches to solving problems and managing data. Ideal candidate will look for opportunities to improve status quo and implement new ones when necessary.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Math, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent quantitative field
4-7 years relevant working experience (in a similar role) with strong technical analytical ability and data mining skills
Excellent statistical intuition, application, and knowledge of various analytical approaches
Extensive experience querying large, complex, and raw data sets in Teradata/Hive/Hadoop databases (or similar environments).

Proficient in advanced SQL and with statistical software (preferably R)
Proficient with video/web analytics and tools (Omniture, Tableau)
Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint
Must be detail-oriented and focused on data accuracy
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate and present data and information
Proven ability to learn quickly, work independently, and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
Passion for news, video, social networking, advertising, and digital entertainment industry
Build strong working relationships with coworkers, customers, and company management
