Senior Copywriter

The Brand + Creative team at a leading media/content company is looking for an exuberantly visual and highly-versatile copywriter to join the team in creating corporate and B2B campaigns/materials that tell the company story and promote the company's events, brands and products.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
Below are some of the projects that cross our desks, sometimes all in one day:

• Corporate brand development, implementation and extension via internal and public-facing materials
• Event experience theming, branding, messaging and materials (evites, websites, sizzles, premiums, signage) for major industry tentpoles like the Programmatic Upfront, The Newfronts and CES.
• Product and service branding and launch campaigns
• Video scripts for sizzle reels and internal event showcases
• Trade ads (digital and print)
• Brainstorms for event themes, product launches, et al.
• Internal communications—email announcements, community service events, HR materials
• Styleguides and brand books for brands and campaigns
• Webpages, microsites, banners, apps
• Plasma screens, signage
• PowerPoint deck clean-ups
• Speeches

WHAT WE EXPECT:
Qualifications:

• A writer with 5-7 years of agency or in-house experience
• A BA or BS in something that made you a great thinker and problem solver
• Experience with B2B writing, but an understanding that business audiences enjoy a good concept and humor as much as a consumer
• A portfolio that makes the other two writers jealous
• Fluent in Microsoft Office and Google Drive applications. If you know a little Adobe Creative Suite stuff or even a smattering of html, that’s a plus, too
• A strong grasp of grammar and an ability to navigate its ever-changing rules as the tech world turns more nouns into verbs on a daily basis

Characteristics
• Flexibility—Sometimes you’ll work as one, sometimes with a larger team. You need to be comfortable doing both.
• Ingenuity—When a brief is missing a detail or just missing, you’ll hunt the information down; when you spot an opportunity to propose a new deliverable or project, you do it
• Creativity—Seriously. We are not looking for a fill in the blanks writer, but someone who can concept and take our concepts and messaging to the next level
• Versatility—You can shift from a tech one-sheet to a sizzle reel script in the blink of an eye
• Responsibility—You meet your deadlines, you make your meetings, you ensure brand tone and message consistency across assignments
• Adaptability—You have a change is good attitude because, hey, this is the digital industry. This applies to everything from taking on new responsibilities to taking feedback on your work and integrating it wisely.
• Affability—You’re a team player who loves to lend a hand or share a great movie tip with your colleagues.
