Senior Content Strategist/UX Copywriter

So, I don't know if you're open to new opportunities or not...

...but I just got in an urgent need from Razorfish and your skillset looks spot-on for what they want to see. The full job description is below, but to sum up: Razorfish (onsite at Citi in Irving) needs a full-time UX Copywriter, ASAP. The budget we've been given is $40/hr, BUT if you're interested, just let me know what you need and I'll see if I can make it work. (No promises.) The work is 75% content strategy and 25% copywriting. This is a full-time, onsite role with weekly pay (W2, not 1099) and health benefits through the contract period, then a planned conversion over to Razorfish's payroll at the end of one year. And yes, Razorfish has an amazing company and team culture, just as you'd expect.

To be considered as a candidate, you'll need to get me work samples of most or all of the following: inventories, content audits, process documents, experience plans with taxonomy, and content maps. If you can provide samples within the financial services sphere, or from mobile/app projects, or from large-scale enterprise companies, those are all big plusses.

Job Summary

The Senior Content Strategist is responsible for overseeing all content requirements, and creating all content strategy deliverables (content audits, gap analyses, taxonomies, metadata frameworks, style guides, content migration plans, etc.) across the project lifecycle.  Collaborating closely with the Information Architect as well as people from our Creative, Strategy and Technology groups, you will be critical to defining the content needs of web sites and applications our teams create, and to working closely with the client to ensure the necessary content is sourced or otherwise generated,

Core Duties and responsibilities

  • Developing content strategy based on client business objectives and user needs
  • Determining projects’ overall content requirements and potential content sources
  • Developing innovative solutions for content presentation, including content management, workflow, and maintenance
  • Creating taxonomies and metadata frameworks for grouping and tagging content
  • Working with client to enhance, edit and reformat legacy and newly created content
  • Ensuring content conforms to Search Engine Optimization best practices
  • Developing or overseeing development of all content to be included in the solution
  • Setting guidelines for the editorial tone, style, and voice of all content
  • Develop naming conventions, instructional copy, and other interface textual elements
  • Establishing a style guide and editorial procedures for all written elements of the site
  • Overseeing content migrations and preparing documentation to do so
  • Developing content indexes and mapping documentation for the new site

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Demonstrated ability to lead content strategy across the entire web development process
  • Thorough understanding of how to communicate effectively in a digital environment
  • Experience with content management systems, digital asset management, databases and SEO best practices
  • Expert level attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in client services and negotiating business decisions
  • High tolerance for ambiguity matched only by your desire to organize it
  • Willingness to travel

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years’ experience in creating/writing content for Web or other digital media
  • Degree in related field, such as English, journalism, technical writing, or library science
  • Previous experience in professional print, digital or broadcast media
  • Advanced proficiency in the MS Office Suite, and working knowledge of design tools such as Visio and InDesign
