Senior Content Strategist

Our client is a leader in the content marketing arena with clients including a number of Australia’s biggest brands in the financial services and telco categories, and they are looking for a genuine leader who can build on the great work currently being delivered and bring passion, experience and a high level of strategic and creative thinking to the agency.

Reporting to the Head of Strategy you will be supported in your professional development, and will enjoy working in a fast paced, spirited and friendly environment with a team that values a work life balance.

The Role
• Lead the development of smart, creative, impactful digital, content marketing and social media strategies for clients in Sydney
• Take client briefs and transform them into actionable strategies and digital solutions
• Play an active role alongside the Head of Strategy, leading the strategy for new business pitches
• Exercise strategic and creative leadership providing mentoring, guidance, support and best practice thinking to the broader team
• Develop, write and persuasively present digital and content strategies and ideas to clients
• Steer the thinking behind content creation with a focus on video
• Develop amplification and distribution plans that maximise content performance with a focus on social and SEO/SEM

Core competencies/experience
• 6+ years solid experience in digital strategy in an agency environment
• Experience in content marketing and social strategy
• Experience working on major brands (ideally in both B2B and B2C)
• Understanding how to transform a client brief into an actionable strategy and digital and/or content solution that solves a business problem and delivers a measurable outcome
• Understanding of all aspects of content mix including video, and a good working understanding of SEO and social media
• Knowledge of key digital tools e.g Radian 6/social listening/publishing tools, Google Trends, Google Analytics etc
• Excellent writing skills
