Senior Consumer Pharma Copywriter

Our client is a New York based pharmaceutical and healthcare branding agency, and they're looking to bring on a freelance Senior Copywriter with Direct-to-Consumer focused experience for an long-term, on-site freelance contract.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience writing pharmaceutical copy for print, collateral, websites, banners, and emails. The Senior Copywriter will play a fundamental role in content strategy and development--creating compelling content, creative concepts and copy designed for interactive advertising and marketing materials. This role will work closely with the Creative team, designers, information architects and account and Production teams, as well as editorial support staff; with the goal of turning complex data into persuasive copy directed at patients, physicians and consumers. This role also includes presenting ideas directly to clients, and participating in pitches and team meetings as required.

The Ideal Candidate:
- Possesses a deep understanding of how (and when) interactive technologies affect user experiences
- Is experienced in a range of interactive marketing methods, including: website, rich and standard ad units, emails, tools, video, mobile, etc.
- Has experience as the sole or lead writer on projects
- Has led the reviewing of all copy documents before submission to client, including initial copy for marketing review as well as finished manuscripts for medical/legal review
- Is well versed and seasoned in the preparation of materials for Medical/Legal Review including completion of references and annotations
- Must have experience developing and executing campaigns for pharmaceuticals, medical devices and diagnostics advertising
- 5+ years of experience in content development and writing in a medical interactive advertising agency
- Bachelor’s degree required (preferably one that combines a background in English and Science)
