Senior Communications Manager

Record-breaking product launches. Holiday shopping season. Executive events and communications. Social communications and feature development. Worldwide communications planning, development and reporting with key subsidiaries. These are just some of the things you’ll get to work on as part of the central employee communications team at a Fortune 100 company.

We are looking for a senior Marketing Communications Manager for a six-month stint where you will be 100% part of the team that runs the company’s biggest, broadest internal channels and programs, from the hugely successful intranet portal to executive Town Halls to employee events and more. This Communications Manager must bring diverse experience and an ability to both strategize and execute on multiple projects at once.

Note: This is a temporary position lasting 6 months in duration, from November 2012 – April 2013.


Social Communications:
• Creatively use Yammer, video, blogs and other social communications tools to increase employee engagement with programs such as executive events, the employee portal, etc.
• Serve as community manager: Monitor, respond to, and enforce policies
• Participate in company-wide efforts to develop strategy and guidance for integrating microblogging into employee communications
• Represent Employee Communication in internal and external forums as a social communications showcase
• Advise other groups on creative ways or best practices to use social communications in their employee programs

Programs & Content:
• Lead the Holiday 2012 program for employees by:
o Working with the Retail team to organize the Employee, Friends & Family night nationwide
o Partnering with the Director of Employee Events on a unified schedule, set of messages, and promotion plan for multiple employee deals & demos throughout the season
o Creating the content and promotion plans
• Manage the executive profiles & business division pages

Worldwide Communications:
• Be the trusted advisor and provide strategic communications guidance on Corporate launches and initiatives
• Meet with council members as needed to advise on their local communications plans and on how they can best leverage Corporate resources for global events like product launches, Holiday, etc.
• Assist these Council members in completing & using their communication plan template and scorecards

Reporting & Analytics:
• Lead Employee Comms team in the creation and delivery of a monthly report that communicates collective business impact
• Manage analytics vendor to update team scorecard monthly
• Refine baselines for reach, engagement, and sentiment metrics where they exist today; identify opportunities to define additional baselines
• Manage process of updating the quarterly Employee Comms Council scorecards with data for “corporate” tactics


• 8+ years in marketing, content, or communications roles with at least 5+ years leading or managing key projects
• 3+ years website management experience with responsibility for user experience and satisfaction
• 2+ years social media communications and marketing experience, from strategy to execution
• Strong editorial background and judgment; proven ability to create high-quality, customer-focused content
• Experience managing multiple communications and/or content programs from start to finish
• Excellent cross-group collaboration skills
• Experience with executive communications and ability to work with people at multiple levels of the company
• Familiarity with SharePoint and/or WebTrends are a plus
• Event management or coordination experience is a plus
