Senior Business Systems Analyst

Aquent's Fortune 500 retail client is looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to work a 1 year contract on-location in Richfield, MN working in the Carrier Activation Platform department.

The Carrier Activation Platform (CAP) supports the carrier/mobile framework used to integrate with 15+ mobile carrier partners (external) and 10+ Applicants Clients (internal).

Our client is looking for an innovative, collaborative and self-motivated performer focused on requirements, rigor, and productivity. This resource should be creative, resourceful, and able to handle stressful situations and consistent change with ease. The IT environment is very fast paced (agile environment), open and honest, and requires individuals who are thick-skinned and desires continuous improvement and learning.

Responsibilities:
• Lead business and technical requirements meetings/elicitation/documentation including research/gap analysis, process modeling, data mappings, transformation/translation rules, use case diagrams, event flows, and more.
• Ensure that project requirements are aligned across teams, approved, managed and delivered on-time and within capacity/budget.
• Responsible for high-level design, scope, impact analysis, user stories and/or uses cases
• Assists with system tests review to ensure that requirements are satisfied
• Works closely and fosters good working relationships
• Non-Functional Requirements gathering and documentation

What would a normal day for this position look like?
• Design/Requirements – Working closely with delivery team members (Product Owners, Project Managers, Architects, Development, BSA, QA), and key business, carrier and IT stakeholders to elicit, document and deliver requirements.
• Daily Meetings – Participate in internal delivery team meetings, lead JAD sessions and requirements walk-through, answer client/carrier questions; Ability to be professional, personable, and communicate well while in the meetings with high level stakeholders.
• Support – Support key stakeholders (Clients Application Teams, Operational/ASM and Carrier Partners) as part of daily operations – research, analysis, reporting, RCA/Triage, etc.

Skills Overview:
1. Must be able to elicit / facilitate requirements, driving towards completion, despite ambiguity.
2. Must act as an advocate for clients, customers and system integrity.
3. Must remain current in business practices, documentation tools/standards and technology patterns.
4. Must understand complex systems and translate into logical capabilities, functions and processes (abstract thinking).
5. Must clearly communicate requirements’ vision (what and why) and specifications (how) to various audiences, including internal technical, business, clients and external partners.
6. Must have information management experience within a business or customer domain, including documentation in forums such as Wikis, Knowledgebase systems, etc.
7. Must have data analysis experience understanding movement, transformation and translation of data between systems.
8. Must be self-directed, requiring minimal direction to problem solve and drive solutions and clearly communicate to project managers and stakeholders.
9. Must have strong organizational, time management, multi-tasking capabilities and presentation skills.
10. Must be able to work in a face-paced environment, quickly delivering high-value and thorough contributions.
11. Preferred SDLC experience with middleware, integration-heavy, and/or data-intensive systems.
12. Preferred experience and certifications in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.)
13. Preferred experience or understanding of web services (SOA).
14. Preferred experience with onshore/offshore teams.

Candidates WILL NOT be disqualified if they don’t have ALL of these technologies, but knowledge of and/or integration experience with the following would be extremely helpful:
• Middleware, database, API integration or web services – see above requirements

Soft Skills
1. Strong sense of ownership, collaboration and self-sufficient/motivated performer.
2. Great communication skills (verbal and non-verbal), and comfortable leading meetings, vendor calls and interaction with business and technology staff
3. Strong work ethic and the ability to work “smart”, and the ability to manage to multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
