Senior Bilingual Graphic Designer

Looking for a creative Senior Graphic Designer for a 2 month contract. Must be fully Bilingual - Mainly French

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Client Relationship Management
• Discuss with clients their communication strategies and objectives and provide advice and recommendations on visual solutions to achieve these
• Effectively manage time to meet delivery deadlines
• Communicate regularly with clients to ensure expectations are met

2. Graphic Design
• With minimal assistance from the Art Director, design marketing materials including brochures, direct mail, advertising, presentations, e-marketing collateral, posters, way finding signage, displays, trade show booths, and other collateral as needed
• Maintain, promote and apply expert knowledge of the brand standards and visual identity guidelines
• Apply experience in layout, colour theory, sourcing imagery and typography
• Organize creative files to optimize version control for multi-user access

3. Business Delivery and Operational Effectiveness
• Effectively lead and execute multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities
• Adhere to quality control processes ensuring files are proofread and meet all brand and graphic standards, and all necessary sign-offs are obtained before releasing files
• Adhere to established processes and procedures to effectively manage projects
• Manage relationship and workflow with suppliers (e.g. – printers, translators, vendors) to deliver products within brand guidelines and client parameters
• Manage time sheets for projects in file maker


CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

The job requires the person to interact closely with
• Marketing Group at all levels
• Corporate Marketing Group at all levels
• Third party suppliers for translation and print production

The interactions that will take place include:
Advising - authorizes the person to interact and determine needs for the client
Coordinating, - allows the person to call a meeting, book printing times, etc.
Monitoring, - authorizes the person to be informed of all graphics initiatives and changes.
and Service arranging - allows the person to attain outside sourcing. (i.e. printing, stock images)

SCOPE AND IMPACT:

The role contributes to overall business results helping to drive revenue growth, while delivering fast and effective solutions at a significant savings compared to third party design firms.
The role serves as a role model for the brand identity through consistent application of standards and messaging.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Knowledge:
• College or university diploma/degree in graphic design or related discipline
• 5 - 7 years design experience in a corporate setting
• Expert knowledge and application experience of graphic design systems and programs – PC & Mac and related software including Abobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint; Acrobat Reader/Distiller,
• Adobe Flash, Adobe Dreamweaver, Exact Target, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects;
• Knowledge of HTML/XML as related to web design technologies.
