Senior Art director

Creative, award winning, integrated agency based on the south coast are looking for a freelance art director to join the team with a view to growing into being their creative director for the right person. You will be responsible for all creative work produced, including quality of creative thinking, as well as creative execution for both existing and potential clients. The clients are focused in the travel/leisure sector with FS. Executions are full 360 inc ATL.

Your role will include:

Effectively judging creative work and creative briefs.

Ensuring the business develops and maintains a reputation for original and effective creative work.

Encouraging, inspiring confidence, guiding and developing staff members’ talents not just in the Creative Department but in all departments.

Helping to guide and inspire clients.

Setting team standards for creative thinking and execution, including, delivery and timing so that work meets and exceeds the agreed standards.

Ensuring work is undertaken to an acceptable standard, in line with briefs provided so the needs of the clients are met.

Providing accurate/realistic project estimates for creative resources so that true costs and timings are provided.

Providing creative direction and insight on all major projects to ensure they are on brief and on strategy.

Presenting work in a confident and convincing manner.


Systems and processes
Develop and improve systems by which we work to ensure delivery of accurate, high quality creative on time, on budget.

Help ensure the agency works as one team working well with Account Management and Senior Partners on all aspects of the business.

Ensure briefing and signing off processes are adhered to.

Specify and lead any specific training on brief writing, creative presentation and creative evaluation.

Carry out six monthly appraisals for all Creative Department members and have regular updates with team members.

Specify and oversee recruitment of staff both full-time and freelance within the Creative Department.

Be responsible for the business Brand: look, feel and tone of voice, and consistency across all touch-points.

Help make the agency known for excellent work, including awards for creativity and effectiveness.


New Business
Lead the creative thought process and development of concepts for new business opportunities.

Work closely with the senior partners and Senior Client Services staff to contribute the development of new business opportunities.

Form part of the pitch team leading the creative strategy and attending pitches.

The Creative Department, which includes writers, art directors, digital designers, designers, and art workers.
