Senior Account Manager

Aquent is seeking for a Senior Account Manager role to support an in-house Creative Agency. This a full-time (40 hour/week) 6 month contract with potential to convert perm. The position is located in Rockville/Bethesda, MD.

The Creative Agency is a creative and content studio comprised of design, content, production, distribution and client service and strategy functions. Forward-thinking, strategic marketing and communications manager and partner to work with internal clients to understand and articulate their business needs while effectively planning and executing marketing communications projects in response to those needs. Oversee, manage and prioritize project workflows from scoping and strategy to final execution, ensuring that all project deliverables are executed on time, on budget and on strategy. Work in collaboration with other functional areas within the Creative Agency, public relations, digital, operations, and other internal groups as required.

The core accountabilities of this position include:
• Marketing Intelligence: Demonstrate experience and expertise with integrated, cross-platform marketing communication strategy and execution.
• Client Partnership: Work collaboratively with clients to develop smart, successful, integrated communications strategies in support of business objectives.
• Project Management: Manage and guide project workflows to execute client campaigns, marketing communications across channels and customer-facing content.
• Content Strategy: Collaborate with design, digital and brand teams to drive development and distribution of engaging content that provides value to the consumer and meets business objectives.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
Marketing Intelligence
• Leverage knowledge of marketing communications strategy and brand acumen to guide the development of sound, integrated creative communications solutions across all channels (i.e. print, web, social, mobile, and video).
• Gather strategic business and user insights from clients to develop comprehensive project briefing documents, ensuring client alignment on objectives and enabling the team’s understanding of projects/assignments.
• Partner with Creative team to scope and shape concepts and executions (design and copy).
• Prepare and pitch business and special project initiative proposals to clients that include quality creative concepts and on-strategy business rationale that is in sync with clients’ marketing plans, brand and portfolio positioning and objectives.

Content Strategy
• Clearly communicate strategic vision for our clients and deliver to the greater organization.
• Plan, estimate, scope content strategy work, determine and execute content distribution and analysis.
• Develop cohesive content / marketing strategies for business partners based on consumer insights and behavior.
• Manage the lifecycle of content through various platforms and channels.
• Define and help clients establish metrics to measure the success of content solutions including: ROI, content/brand integrity, content accuracy and relevance consumer sentiment, retention and subscribers.

Client Partnership
• Work collaboratively with internal clients to develop and implement integrated marketing communications strategies in support of business/program objectives, brand and portfolio positioning, and global content strategy.
• Proactively engage clients early in the process with a view towards helping —planning/forecasting work up front and holding "discovery meetings” to inform projects before they begin.
• Operate as a liaison between MCA key disciplines, clients and external/internal business partners/vendors.
• Strengthen client partnerships by applying project management expertise as well as marketing strategy expertise and brand acumen to ensure that projects are executed on time, on budget and on strategy.

Project Management
• Responsible for project initiation, estimating and scheduling, across departments and outside specialists.
• Monitor and track the labor delivery and budget for active projects and specific project deliverables. Communicate priorities, needs, challenges and opportunities as appropriate to other internal cross-functional team members.
• Communicate regularly with client, including project status reports, meeting summaries, budget-versus-actual reports, etc.
• Partner with creative team to present creative assets and other project deliverables, such as creative concepts and copy.

CANDIDATE PROFILE - KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED
• Requires 5+ years of work experience in marketing communications and/or advertising with at least five years as an account manager.
• Experience with content strategy, some content creation and brand marketing work required.
• Consumer marketing, tv/video production and/or publishing industry experience desired.
• Ability to partner with clients to develop relevant, effective marketing communications strategies.
• A strong sense of copy/design best practices along with experience developing creative communications across multiple media and social channels.
• A comprehensive understanding the role of content plays within multiple marketing channels to reach consumer, engage them and add value.
• Experience with social media including developing strategies, tracking and analyzing activities.
• Ability to succeed under pressure, working independently to managing multiple concurrent projects while shifting priorities and responding to changing business/client needs.
• Customer oriented with exceptional attention to detail, organizational and strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Exceptional customer communications and relationship management skills
• Experience leading as a multi-functional project team (particularly with creative, content, digital, production and distribution combined with a proven understanding of project estimating, scheduling and workflow trafficking.
• Experience with CMS, time tracking systems and web analytics
• Expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism or business required.
