Our client is looking for a fun, creative Seasonal Marketing Program Manager to help develop and execute its 2012 Holiday campaign. This role may also help plan seasonal initiatives for 2013 as well!

This is a 2 to 3 month contract / temporary opportunity. The position is based in San Jose.

The Seasonal Marketing Team creates marketing campaigns designed to drive consideration and capture sales during retail buying bursts and “holidays” such as Mother’s Day, Back to School and Holiday. The Seasonal Marketing team is responsible for defining the campaign strategy, managing the project from end-to-end, and driving engagement from all cross-functional stakeholders – approximately15-20 teams.

This is a high visibility position that will require collaboration and interaction with teams and individuals across the organization. The role will have exposure to multiple teams, including: all functional areas of marketing, marketing analytics, finance, product development, seller management, seller marketing, verticals, and shipping.

The ideal candidate will have experience working at an e-commerce company and will know how to navigate an organization to get things accomplished. Candidates should have an aptitude for cross-functional leadership, stellar interpersonal and presentations skills, excellent project management capabilities and the ability to operate in a fast-moving, often changing business environment.

This role will manage the following Holiday work streams (subject to change):

• Inventory Planning: Project manage execution of Holiday Inventory & Promotions Plan in partnership with Vertical Business Units (BU) and Vertical Marketing

• Partner with Manager, Seasonal Marketing and the Relationship Marketing team to integrate vertical messaging and inventory into onsite/email marketing mix and develop carriage plan (impressions and placement within the marketing mix)

• Partner with “Daily Deals” team to ensure synergy with messaging and merchandising calendar

• Local: Proactively connect with Local team to identify integration opportunities: put together Local strategy and tactics for Holiday (primarily late December), Work with Manager of Seasonal Marketing to integrate vertical marketing into email/onsite marketing mix – prioritize Toys, Tech and Fashion)

• Seller Marketing: Act as primary liaison with users that sell products on our site and ensure clear & consistent communication of Holiday programs/plans.

• Market Landscape/Competitive Forecast: Prepare a consolidated forecast of Holiday market landscape, anticipated buyer behaviors, competitive innovations

• Social: Partner with the Social marketing team to develop a Holiday social strategy that integrates seasonal and brand relevance and defines clear, shared, measurable goals

• Charitable Giving: Proactively connect with Giving Team to identify integration opportunities. Partner with Giving Team to integrate charitable giving partner organizations.

• Executive Presentations: Prepare executive-level presentations to summarize direction of Holiday ’12 campaigns on an as-needed basis.
