Overview
Our client’s Apps team is looking for a marketing excellence person who will help deliver the next generation of applications across our client’s technology platform. This role will own marketing forecasting and reporting, manage the subsidiary-facing internal communications portal and deliver business and competitive insight to help refine first-class app availability across our platforms; and tell the story to our developer, consumer and business customers.

Why does the role exist?
The UK continually delivers world-leading apps through a combination of blue chip brands and innovative new ideas. This role will support the marketing team across our client’s biggest platform. Reporting to the group business manager, the role will have equally close working relationships with the product management, marketing, business development and technical teams to infuse a culture of marketing excellence across the whole group.

Accountabilities & key success criteria
Marketing Forecast & reporting
- Marketing Forecast management. Providing a point of escalation for marketing budget, forecast and planning expertise.
- Work with the Business Manager to identify any opportunities for efficiency and effective usage of marketing funds
- Be a systems and tools experts - ensuring the systems are kept up to date and the information contained and it is always of a high quality
- Infuse a culture of Marketing Excellence through a deep understanding of the apps production, submission and GTM process with an established marketing through sales cycle view
Pipeline Management
- Support marketing breadth pipeline management for one of the largest technology platforms in the world.
- Establish a rhythm for reporting, team sync calls, nominations and reviews
- Lead pipeline calls with breadth biz dev and technical teams in DPE; plus broader stakeholders across the sub and corp
- Be a CRM champ - ensuring the systems are kept up to date and the information contained is always of a high quality
- Infuse a culture of Marketing Excellence through a deep understanding of the apps production, submission and GTM process with an established sales cycle view
- Help support the Partner teams to onboard our client’s partners internal systems & get involved with supporting partner & customer events.
Communications & Stakeholder management
- Maintain regular communication with leadership team and marketing team to provide up-to-date apps status for relevant products
- Cultivate relationships with the PR teams in Microsoft and external approved companies, and establish the best way of tracking impact of apps stories, communicating this to Apps team, DPE group and beyond
- Pro-actively engage the DPE marketing tools/team to ensure developer stories are covered and track impact
- Establish method of tracking the impact of our client’s developer partners through the CRM tool; collating testing records, number of apps published, length of development and app download statistics post-publication.
- Identify strengths and potential areas of improvement on a case-by-case basis and work with the partner lead and relationship marketing manager to ensure partner strength and capability is maintained
- Constantly review the programs and ensure the UK is a leader in terms of best-practice and pro-actively seek out opportunities to share this across subs.
Business Analysis & Reporting
- Contribute to the Apps ROB and kpi slides and meetings on a monthly basis
- Partner with Market Intelligence effort to deliver analysis and insight to our competitors’ marketplace performance
- Maintain CRM & Apps pipeline reports to ensure that the UK business has an up to date view of attainment of Apps
Strong project management and strategic skills required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills. Must have the ability to work under constant deadline pressure and manage multiple projects. Must be detail oriented, have strong cross group collaboration skills, pro-active and managing multiple projects is a must. Must know how to prioritize tasks. B2B or B2C Marketing experience preferred. Marketing experience with high technology products preferred. Experience with Microsoft products preferred. Web/online (HTML/SharePoint) experience preferred. Master's degree in Business Administration preferred; Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field required
