Sales Channel Representative

The Sales Channel Representative position is a unique blend of specialties including being knowledgeable and experienced in marketing, financial services and sales enablement.

The Sales Channel Representative partners with our client's Integrated Marketing, product and Sales teams to design, develop, and deliver sales messaging and programs to enable our global sales force to effectively present our thought leadership, investment solutions and execute on sales initiatives. The Representative integrates the sales perspective into broader plans and objectives, develops, integrates and improves sales messaging capabilities and deliverables and ensures alignment and collaboration with senior management and sales leadership across multiple distribution channels on go-to-market strategies.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
• Drives and executes an iterative approach with Integrated Marketing to ensure sales force needs are considered and incorporated in campaign development initiatives.
• Collaborates, provides input and produces compelling sales messaging and sales tools that allow sales force to achieve greater effectiveness in the delivery of messaging, product positioning, firm insights and research.
• Collaborates with distribution channels to determine application and needs related to initiatives.
• Provides input in the direction and influences the outcome of marketing campaigns.
• Identifies when it is necessary and appropriate to include direct sales force representation and coordinates the participation.
• Develops pre, during and post launch plan and activities. Owns specific deliverables while collaborating with others on various components to ensure timely development and execution.
• Provides feedback and direction to ensure content, materials, and programs are relevant, timely, and usable by the sales force.
• Works with integrated marketing and others to proactively gather input from the sales force to ensure sales and marketing materials are current, are effective and meets business needs.
• Translates the client segment objectives of the Sales and Marketing Communications briefs into actionable and operational items. Identifies dependencies and recommends the appropriate sequencing of resulting activities.
• Designs and provides input into the development of sales curriculum, tools, resources and training for the client segment and communicates output to the sales organization
• Leads development of sales tools to ensure effective utilization by the sales force in the field.
• Develops, navigates and utilizes internal relationships to drive the client segment sales and marketing strategies.
• Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:
• Significant familiarity with sales interactions and steps to making a sale within the financial services industry.
• Understands the interactions between internal and external sales associates and financial advisors or institutional investors.
• Experience developing (through writing, collaboration, creativity) multiple aspects of talking points, sales messaging, and conversation tools that help sales force members achieve greater conversational success around a variety of initiatives and goals.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with, share ideas and influence thinking with business units and teams within the organization.
• Knowledge of the investment and financial services industries.
• Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and analytical skills in areas of high complexity.
• Understands organizational structures, distribution channels and competitive landscape.
• Exhibits knowledge in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting the department/business area.
• Possesses in-depth knowledge of sales training best practices.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of sales processes, tools and technologies, and ability to apply it to work assignments.
• Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills; strong inter-personal skills; strong presentation skills.
• Demonstrates effectiveness in leading/facilitating a variety of meetings.
• Demonstrates the ability to work in a team environment and across broad, diverse groups.
• Demonstrates strong detail orientation, process orientation, organizational, and multi-tasking skills; ability to effectively manage an unpredictable workload and meet established deadlines.
• Demonstrates sound judgment when resolving matters of moderate complexity; demonstrates strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Requires 10+ years of experience; requires Financial Services industry experience; Fixed Income background preferred.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
