Sales Associate

We are seeking a Sales Associate to help introduce an innovative product to San Francisco. This position will be client-facing (predominantly small/medium businesses) for eBay in a variety of sales and business development capacities. Responsibilities range from executive-level discussions to cold-calling and in-person appointments. You will also play a key role in defining the pitch and go-to-market strategy. We have a flexible work environment with a fun, dedicated, and high-energy team.

Desired Education, Skills, & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree – preferably in business, marketing, or communications
• At least 3 years of sales experience with evidence of consistent success
• General computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word
• A strong work ethic and exceptional communication skills
• Working knowledge of Salesforce.com a plus

1. Comfortable talking to strangers: In-person cold calls
2. Self-motivation: Be able to work remotely in the field by themselves
3. Can to grasp complicated technology concepts.

The most important experience would be selling into small retailers. It would be particularly helpful if they already had relationships with merchants in the San Francisco Bay Area. One industry that does a lot of this is the Daily Deal Industry. Companies like GroupOn, LivingSocial, and Gilt. Other smaller companies that are more closely related to this sales effort would be SixDoors and Boutiika (with 2 i’s).
