SR. UX/UI DESIGNER

We are looking for a UX/UI Designer to join our effort to create a new global content platform for fortune 500 Athletic/footwear client. We are looking for someone with the ability and desire to create highly functional and visually appealing tools that empower creative content . As a UX/UI Designer, your job is to make sure that our platform of products and services are intuitive, usable, and beautiful to our global content team.
As the ideal candidate for this position, you can translate business needs and qualitative and quantitative data into amazing operational solutions. You are hands-on at visualizing experience concepts and can create and drive that vision into actionable design deliverables. You have experience in executing and directing the production of user interface wireframes and designs, interaction models, and prototypes. You are comfortable presenting your concepts to stakeholders and are able to translate for a range of audiences including product managers and engineers. You think first from the customer’s perspective and set relentlessly high standards for yourself and your partners in developing best-in-class experiences from concept to execution.

Responsibilities:
• Define the user experience strategy to streamline operations across global digital content teams
• Provide hands-on expertise and leadership in the development of information architecture deliverables including site maps, user flows, UI sketches, wireframes, prototypes and features and functions specifications
• Provide input to the product manager in the heuristic evaluations and competitive audits for usefulness, usability, visual design, content and branding
• Work side-by-side with engineering, operations, and product management, delivering design specs and assets, within a Scrum team using one-week development cycles
• Seek innovative and intuitive approaches to interaction design
• Participate in core product team strategy discussions and workshops to help define use cases and business strategies that will make the product successful
• Partner with design talent (agency and in-house) to design new or modify existing experiences
• Partner with product managers to drive consensus on UX designs across stakeholders and negotiate diverse points of view and priorities
• Partner with engineers and product managers to assure UX guidelines are understood and implemented to the highest standards
• Create custom icons and graphics that support the product
• Produce a UI Style Guide

Experience:
• Experience and understanding of how to apply the methodologies of interaction design and research to product development
• Process driven and strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ability to negotiate consensus and resolve issues
• A data driven approach to inform design decisions and product roadmaps
• Experience working collaboratively across different skillsets
• Excellent customer experience intuition and knowledge
• Demonstrated success in creating innovative and user-friendly digital experiences for interfaces and tools
• Deep understanding of user motivations, market opportunities and competition through research and testing
• Comprehension in multiple device types and contexts (desktop, tablet, mobile) and both responsive and adaptive designs for the web
• A strong portfolio of work samples showcasing creativity, thoughtfulness, and simplicity in interaction and visual design of products
• Broad experience designing web and mobile applications with a bias for action and learning
• 5 years of UI design and interactive work
• Bachelor’s degree in design-related discipline such as Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Anthropology, Architecture, Library and Information Science, Journalism or equivalent

Duties:
The nature of the work is focused on the appearance of product, communications, or collateral materials. Under the direction of a Senior Designer or Director, collaborates in the development of innovative solutions for 2d and 3d design including graphics and/or environments. Utilizes advanced design skills to create original design solutions Communicates and presents design concepts to team/leader/Director Creates presentation materials that effectively communicate design concepts. Works with design leadership and category team to ensure feasibility of designs, budget, merchandising needs and overall program needs Produces electronic files for production purposes Produces electronic files for production purposes Actively gains knowledge of current trends, color, technology and other related design influencers

Skills:
Bachelors degree in Graphic, Architectural or Industrial Design and 5 plus years of progressively technically sophisticated design experience. Proven ability to apply and perform design skills, including drawing/sketching, typography, ideation, color theory, use of texture, spacing, and scale, visual presentation development and layout that is supported by a portfolio of non-computer-based creative art and design. Knowledge of and sensitivity to trends influencing design in general, and the athletic industry specifically. Demonstrated high level of expertise using design software. Strong oral and written communications skills in local market language, including meeting facilitation and presentations. Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives. Ability to woork cooperatively with staff, share ideas and develop effective responses. Proven ability to work in a rapidly changing, high-growth environment. Education:
Typically requires a Bachelors Degree and minimum of 5 years directly relevant work experience Note: One of the following alternatives may be accepted: PhD or Law + 3 yrs; Masters + 4 yrs; Associates degree + 6 yrs; High School + 7 yrs.
