SEO Technician

Vitamin T has a new client who is looking for an SEO Technician to run the creation, optimization and execution of a number of their client's SEO initiatives. Technician will work closely with the Director of Marketing Strategy and SEO manager in developing and executing coordinated SEO search strategies to meet and exceed our clients’ business objectives. This position requires a “hands-on” technician with astute attention to process and detail, who also possesses the ability to apply this detailed knowledge to actionable insights and recommendations.

The Work:
The SEO Technician will be accountable for the day-to-day execution of a number of SEO projects and responsibilities, ensuring strategic strength, proactive activation and timely completion of projects. Additionally, this individual will ensure that projects are produced completely and correctly before being sent to the director and/or client.
- Assist in development and implementation of SEO strategies and tactics in line with a client’s business objectives including but not limited to:
o On-page optimizations (metadata, keyword usage, internal linking, etc.)
o Offsite initiatives (link building, social media projects, etc.)
o Audit websites and provide technical recommendations for improving SEO visibility and performance
o Identify new opportunities and recommendations for improving client’s organic search rankings, traffic and conversions
o Collaborate with our Client Success Manager on monthly SEO reporting (keyword rankings, SEO traffic, conversion data)
o Develop insights to inform future optimizations and provide client with insights and optimization recommendations
o Work with Director of Marketing Strategy and SEO manager to develop processes for coordination of SEO efforts
o Research new ideas, trends and technologies within the SEO space
o Stay up-to-date on newest organic search, paid search and social media trends

The People:
He or she will stimulate team productivity and growth by:
- Providing education on SEO landscape and best practices internally
- Working with the director and the SEO manager to coordinate all search efforts for the client
- Taking an active role in developing and presenting search best practices to internal agency partners

The Clients:
The SEO Technician will have daily contact with the client, including but not limited to:
- Making recommendations for new campaigns and strategies
- Optimization recommendations based on insights and analysis
- Identifying and communicating trends in search and in client industries
- Providing access to advanced SEO training as available

Required Skills, Experience and Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 2-3 years of SEO specific work experience, preferably in an agency environment
- Experience managing on-page optimizations (metadata, keyword usage, internal linking, etc.)
- Experience managing white-hat off site initiatives to drive SEO performance improvements (link building, , social media projects, etc.)

Technical knowledge/experience with the following:
o Experience with link building and content creation for the purpose of improving SEO performance a major plus
o XML sitemaps, Robots.txt, and URL re-directs
o Basic knowledge of content management systems and knowledge of HTML, HTML5, XHTML, XHTML-MP, XML, JavaScript, FLASH, CSS and W-CSS as they relate to SEO
o Basic knowledge of server-side scripting methods such as PHP

- Knowledge of lead generation clients and SEO tactics necessary to generate conversions
- Experience in applying SEO to brand-building, direct response and reputation management initiatives
- Experience with leading SEO, web analytics and search research tools and technologies, such as:
o SEO: SEOmoz, Bright Edge, Conductor, Raven, etc.
o Web Analytics: Omniture, CoreMetrics, Google Analytics, Web Trends, etc.
o Research Tools: ComScore, Compete, HitBox, AdGooroo, etc.

- Experience and understanding of paid search and other forms of digital media
- Ability to work with cross functional teams and individually to drive results
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
