SEO Specialist/Manager

Vitamin T client - Hot DC Advertising and Interactive Agency - is looking for a new SEO Campaign Manager to join their team. This is a temp to hire on site opportunity. Client is located in Rockville, MD, but they offer a free shuttle from metro to office.

We are currently seeking a SEO Specialist/Manager who is ready to be a part of a new and exciting department at our design group in MD. The Specialist will report to the Director of SEO & Digital. We’re looking for someone who is committed, hard working, intellectually curious and has a good sense of humor. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Top-to-bottom management of SEO campaigns; generating ranking reports, conducting site audits, handling client concerns, etc.​
• Hands-on optimization; improving site structure, page construction, content, keyword lists, and SEO copywriting.
• Keyword research that includes competitive analysis and identifying unique keyword opportunities across industries, B2C and B2B markets
• Devise and implement link building strategies unique to client markets
• Management of multiple client SEO campaigns and reporting platforms such as SEOMoz and SEMRush
• Staying up-to-date on search engine algorithmic changes, and being able to make confident recommendations to clients and colleagues in a timely manner (i.e. know when to say go, stop or wait)
• Creative discovery and strategizing on keyword opportunities in website architecture
• Monitoring performance of multiple SEO vendors
• Identify performance indicators for SEO that everyone understands and which complement overall marketing and business objectives
• Research, identify and establish partnerships with authoritative web sites for link-building
• Weekly “reading room” meetings with team members to review current SEO developments and best practices


Requirements & qualifications:

• 1-3 years of hands-on SEO experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of the website design & build process
• Willingness and ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and programs
• Proven track record of successful SEO strategy and implementation
• Strong knowledge of search engine algorithms and ranking strategies
• Proficient with SEO reporting and analytical tools, including familiarity and confidence in Google Analytics
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to create clear and understandable presentations from data
• Intermediate skill level in HTML, javascript, CSS and jQuery


Preferred but not required:

• Blogging/writing experience (send writing examples)
• Advanced knowledge of Google Analytics
• Experience with social tracking tools like Radian6, Adobe SiteCatalyst and Engage121
• Direct client management experience
• Agency experience
• Experience in social media or email marketing campaigns
• Advanced skill level in HTML, javascript, CSS and jQuery
• Experience in delivering presentations to clients
