SEO Specialist

Our client, a well known organization in D.C., is looking for an SEO Specialist to join their team. This person will be responsible for developing SEO strategies and initiatives and working with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to implement them. This position is also responsible for ensuring that pages created on the company website will follow SEO best practices. The SEO Specialist will conduct keyword analysis and reporting on SEO Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), which include traffic, conversions, engagement and revenue.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge in site structure, coding compliance, meta data strategies, page weight, link building, site indexing, content development and social media as it impacts SEO ranking and organic traffic. The SEO Specialist will work closely with the digital and content team to integrate SEO guidelines, best practices and insights into the project planning, delivery and execution of new and revised content.

Responsibilities:
• Creates, manages and executes SEO strategies in order to drive incremental traffic for the purpose of increasing revenue, conversions and/or engagement.
• Manages and executes tactical SEO initiatives including but not limited to on-site optimizations, keyword analysis, web content development, link-building, site auditing and competitive analysis.
• Data mines web analytics to identify keywords to target to increase search engine visibility
• Serves as a SME and thought leader for SEO as it relates to overall content marketing to drive online engagement and transactions.
• Collaborates with cross functional teams

Qualifications:
• 5+ years SEO experience
• Proven experience achieving KPIs and revenue targets through SEO.
• Experience executing technical and local SEO best practices, reporting, and proactively adjusting tactics.
• Experience with Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools and MOZ.
• Experience in SEO core elements including but not limited to: On-page and Off-page tactics, site navigation optimization, internal linking structure, URL structure, 301 redirects, Title, Meta descriptions, Headers, dynamic and static page templates, XML sitemaps, Canonical Tags, etc.
• Experience or working knowledge of emerging standards of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
