Vitamin T is currently in search of an SEO Specialist for our client in East Lansing, MI. This contract opportunity with our client is expected to last several months, and may have fluctuating hours from week to week based on need. The ideal talent is able to work remotely to complete the work, however will need to come into the office as necessary for meetings, presentations, etc.

Nature / Scope:

The SEO Specialist will work to develop strategic organic search recommendations and be responsible for ensuring websites meet optimal architecture, link, content, and design criteria to improve visibility, rank and relevance in search engines.

The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of how organic search can integrate with other digital channels, and be a self-starter with a natural curiosity for figuring out how things work.

Duties / Responsibilities:

-Conduct keyword research using a variety of tools and develop solid recommendations for clients
-Develop and deliver strategic recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders (This requires working closely with various departments including Planning, Strategy, Media, Account)
-Work closely with internal departments, such as Client Technology, Content Strategy/Publishing and Social Media to implement recommendations
-Develop custom reporting dashboards for clients and work closely with Analytics team to analyze the data collected.
-Administer Technical Site Audits for SEO compliance
-Stay on top of industry changes through constant self-education and report out as necessary
-Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for both internal and external stakeholders and author POV’s (Point Of View) as required
-Perform link analysis and provide recommendations for building links
-Manage relationships with search marketing partners
-Solve issues and achieve/exceed campaign goals independently or collaboratively within the appropriate agency team
-Assimilate data from multiple sources, compiling the information and drawing actionable conclusions that can be measured and reported
-Organize large volumes of information across multiple vendors and platforms
-Provide status reports, communicate findings and monitor the incremental improvement or effects of change
-Participate in new business initiatives as needed, providing audit results and opportunities for client prospects to improve their organic search performance


-Bachelor’s Degree preferred, with a minimum 1-2 years of SEO experience
-Strong knowledge of search engine ranking criteria, including all technical aspects (site structure, crawlability, redirects and basic HTML)
-Experience with industry leading keyword research, link analysis, ranking and analytics tools used for search engine optimization
-Strong analytical and problem solving skills
-Link building experience through traditional methods and social media preferred
-Knowledge and experience with local search engine optimization is also a plus
